It's time for Dudy Gras 2010! Dudy Gras, the official, unofficial kick off to the MSU baseball season. Dudy Gras this year is made up of 8 days. Each day represents and honors the teams that have played in the College World Series in OMAHA, Nebraska.
Day 1 - This year's Dudy Gras will kick off on Friday, February 5 with the annual Dynamic Fire Protection Dudy Gras 4.5 parade. This will be the 5th year of the parade, due to rain and sleet, the first parade was giving only half credit hence the .5 in title. The parade is made up of trailers and contraptions that make up the world famous, often imitated never duplicated, Left Field Lounge. The Dudy Gras Krewe is proud to announce Bulldog great and MLB All-Star Jeff Brantley as this years Grand Marshall. Jeff, as well as this years team will be in the parking lot of Rick's to meet and greet. The parade will pull out of Ricks Cafe American @ 4:00 heading West on 182, turn up Connor, then travel Eest on Main Street and University until it ends behind Dudy Noble Field. Supporters are encouraged to gather at hots spots downtown and in the Historic Cotton District. The first day represents and honors the 1971 Diamond Dogs that played in the CWS.
Day 2- Move in day at Dudy Noble! 1979 team honored with a toast!
Day 3- Super Bowl Party at Cowbell's. A toast giving to the 1981 team.
Day 4- Monday Feb 8 meet us during Happy Hour at the new Central Station Grill to drink to the 1985 team! Dawg Talk with Rick Stansbury also be there strting at 7:00 pm
Day 5- Is the !st annual Dudy Gras Fat Tuesday party at the Veranda Restaurant. This is one week before the real Fat Tuesday but we're partying anyway! Live music by Jeff and Jeff, food and drink specials all night. Cheers to the 1990 team! Always a good time!!
Day 6- Happy hour at Ptolemy's Tab Room in the Cotton District. We'll raise our glasses to the 1997 team.
Day 7- Our basketball team plays at 8:00, we're gathering for a pregame party at Dave's Dark Horse where we will honor our 1998 team.
Day 8- Friday February 12 will be the first Annual Dudy Gras/ Red Cross Ball. Starting at 7:00 p.m. there will be a silent auction, the Dudy Gras court will be presented at 8:00. Live music from The Flames. All proceeds from this night goes to the Red Cross Emergency Relief Fund. This is the fund that helped the families of the tragic December fires. There are a limited number of tickets available and can be purchased at the Red Cross, Holiday Inn Express, Chamber of Commerce and the Bulldog Deli.
