Did anyone have any trouble getting cowbells into the game on Saturday? The guy next to me told me that he wasn't allowed to bring his in. My son and I got in with ours with no problem. I told the guy he must have gotten a rookie security guard that didn't know any better.

If you brandish the bell in the face of the people at the gate, you aren't going to get it in, for the most part.

Give them a good excuse to look the other way and not enforce the rule, and that's what they will do.

I have walked in, bell handle tucked in pants, shirt over bell..clang, clang, clang all he way in...while a guy beside me, no clang, gets stopped with the handle visibly sticking out of his pocket.

My friend went in before I did, and said that there was a table full of cowbells that had been taken up. They were even frisking people down. I got the heads up and went in the north gate to the student section, and they had taken up a grand total of... 2.
So yes, for some reason they were being really strict at one of the gates.

My son and I had ours in a small kidsize packpack, along with a handful of snacks and a book and gameboy to keep him occupied. (He's 8 and it was his first home game.) I guess that's why we easily got ours into the game.

After SL scored first, he grabbed his head in his hands and yelled."They are making me so aggrevated. They don't have any points yet." I told him get used to it. He has a lot of games ahead of him to say that probably.

I understand why UM, UA, AU, etc., would ban cowbells...why Mississippi State? I thought the NCAA overturned Conference bans on noisemakers. It just pisses me off that MSU people would stab us fans in the back by confiscating our cowbells.

with only a tiny portion of the bell part visible. I had already gotten in at the ticket gate (SW gate) when a Starkville PD lady came up and said that I couldn't take my cowbell in. The old dudes at the gate told me to put it by the ramp poles and go up the ramp to get it. One of them even blocked the cops view for me while I got it back.

I'll be sure to bury it in our seat cushion zipper pouch for Auburn. I also believe the key is to go in when there are a bunch of women in line as they take up the officers time by opening their purses for them.

Why would anyone be so stupid as to break a game day policy and maliciously bring a cowbell into the stadium. I hope we can find some policeman that are willing to tackle/beat/mace/rape all violators of this policy. If you have ever been ringing your cowbell and had the bell fly off you can appreciate how dangerous they can be. This is a liability. I hope nobody on this board is dumb enough to try and get a cowbell in.

It's a rule. And if you violate the rule, you deserve the police beating you have coming to you. If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.
