What time and what place? Is it just going to be in the wrestling room or can fans watch?

Someone on FB said it’s in Flo at 7 central tonight. Not seeing it on Flos website though. Anyone else care to check it out?

Actually I guess it’s not streaming on Flo. They just list pretty much every event going on even if they’re not streaming it. My bad.

Cowboys did great except for the one guy who's competing at Worlds this year unfortunately

  • 125kg - Doucet DEC Habila Awusayiman 3-0 | Highlights
    • Awusayiman previously wrestled at 97kg. 2024 Olympian (Lost 9-5 to Kyle Snyder). 2x Asian Championships medalist (Silver, Bronze).
  • 61kg - Ramirez DEC Zou Wanhao 4-3 | Highlights
    • Zou was a 2024 Olympian (1-1, lost 3-2 to Spencer Lee). U23 World Bronze.
  • 74kg - Swiderski TF Shen Tao 12-1 (4:59) | Highlights
    • Shen was 5th at U23 Asian Championships.
  • 79kg - Lu Feng TF Lockett 14-1 (4:18) | Highlights
    • It looks like he got taken down and then turned 3x. Then he got a takedown and was reversed and then turned some more.
    • Feng was a 2024 Olympian (1-1). U23 World Silver.
  • 86kg - Facundo DEC Cao Nan 4-1 | Highlights
    • Cao was a 2x U23 Asian Championships medalist (Gold, Bronze). Senior Asian Championships 5th.
  • 92kg - Merrill TF Narenmanduhai 11-0 (2:40) | Highlights
    • Narenmanduhai was U23 Asian Championships Bronze.

I thought KD looked much quicker than normal. I'd love for him to discover just an ounce of offense; we already know he's pretty good on top and pretty good from a defensive stand point.

I wish I could have gone last night, had a chance to, but didn't get back to town until almost 11pm.

Guys looked good.

Did anyone hear the Jax interview on Flo? It was awesome. We are really going to enjoy that kid. He was the most well spoken wrestler I have heard, and he is only 19. He was super funny and genuine, without coming across as cocky. He was actually more quick and enjoyable than the Flo guys who do media for a living.

It was a great interview. He seems like a neat dude.

Not that it matters a whole lot, but Jax is 18.

Dude… KD DOES look ripped. Facundo too. I mean all of them obviously. Wrestlers are so scary and impressive lol. Great to see the new guys. DT seemed more vocal in his matside coaching. Also good to see that.
I thought Konnor looked to be in the best physical shape Ive seen him in. Leaner and more muscular. No excuses this year, as its his last year and I know that Wyatt is really working with him along with DT and probably Zahid.

...does Coach Glass have anything to do with wrestlers? Does DT want him involved in such? Does it depend on the time of the year?.......anything along this line?...

Being better than the Flo guys isn’t too difficult. But yes, Jax is great!

I’m pretty sure DT has a dedicated S/C coach.

No my man it’s not sarcasm. Strength training should absolutely be sport specific and any college wrestling team as elite as the Cowboys needs a top tier wrestling specific strength coach. There are big big differences in the training.
Glass is a Master Trainer and one of the best in the business. He would do a good job, but the kicker is he would likely pass the plans off to an underling and things would be missed.

Montani is sport specific and is also, very highly regarded.

I’m not an expert, but the injury bug wasn’t near as severe as normal. That could have a lot to do with Montani or it could have a lot to do with DT? Our gas tanks also seemed pretty strong.

Lee had the team’s head trainer on Dynasty Defined a few months ago now. He did a really good job describing the change in approach to injuries/recovery when DT replaced JWS.
TL;DL- when guys are sore/hurting they get proactive about recovery and healing, as opposed to John’s “Tough it out, mind over matter” approach. Which is an old school approach that I think led to a lot of guys having a minor ding turn into a serious injury.

Nutrition is also probably part of it. New staff has placed a big emphasis on cutting weight cleanly and helping guys with that process with proper nutrition. I think in the past our guys took a starvation diet approach to cutting weight, and it meant their bodies didn’t get the nutrients for recovery. I’m wholly convinced Travis Wittlake’s blown out knee a few years was the result of cutting too much weight the wrong way.

I think you're ignoring how incredibly diverse the specializations are from one position to the next within the football team
