It was funny during the middle of the first half when the announcers said that **** Stains was trying to dictate the tempo of the game by pressing. Since when has **** Stains EVER dictated the pace of a game? He got his *** outcoached once again. Meo, your boy sucks.

For those that wonder why we complain about Stansbury, just watch the tape of this game from 2 minutes left in regulation forward. We were up by 4 at that point and Stansbury called for motion. We ended up getting into our offense with 7 seconds on the shot clock and Bost at mid court. Varnado threw up a 17 footer as the horn expired. I called the loss right there.

As usual, the opponent dictated they tempo and the style of play.

Somewhat unrelated but we make the worst entry passes I have ever seen.

inexcusable.

Couldn't handle the press during a key possession down the stretch.

Took way to many ugly shots.

Too many turnovers.

And, six years after Butler exposed him, you would think Stans would figure out a way to defend a 17ing backdoor cut.

it was the same thing against Miami OH, Miami FL, and Clemson last year.

Close game, last couple of minutes and we have no clue how to get a good look in the half court offense.

And shocker, Stans calls timeout with 18 seconds left in a tie game to spread the floor and run a ball screen for Barry. I don't necessarily mind doing that every once in a while but that's all he ever sets up out of a time out. Do we have nothing to try to isolate Varnado?

How many of those things are evident in 95% of our games?

Every game we are pressed, we cave.
We have horrible shot selection in blowout wins and losses and close wins and losses.
We are in the bottom 10% of the NCAA in turnovers every year.
Forget Butler. That is 2002. What about Miami (OH) last year?

All we try to do is out-athlete folks, even we are the inferior athletes. But being an athlete does not make you a basketball player, and that's when we really look bad, is when real basketball players with less athletic ability come in and make us look terrible.

We have a recuiter and a yeller, we need a damn BBall coach...

Same ole ****, another damn year..

WHERE ARE HIS SUPPORTERS NOW?
We won the SEC West, who else can we get to MSU?

Stans is on borrowed time and is a joke of a floor coach.
We never control tempo, always wait on the TV timeout, have horrible sub-patterns.
Play man to man tonight, got our asses handed to us, should have gone zone like most of the year so far.
Osby needs to start, this 4 guard BS is not working....
Am I talking about Croom????

the same zone that Cincy destroyed? the one that everyone was screaming for us to get out? that zone?

maybe the common theme is that the defense, not matter what it is, just isnt all that great this season.

The fact that we have to rely on Barry to take shots like that at the end of games say a lot about this team.

That's my point. Every team with lesser athletes come in and use backdoor cut aGAINst us. Over and over. We always seem to play to the opponents style, not our strength. This **** has gone on for the last six years.

And I still think that you guys that complain after we year in and year out have 20+ win seasons are being drama queens. HOWEVER, last night and the Charlotte game were absolutely the worst displays of basketball I have ever witnessed at the Hump. Either Stansbury is a moron or his players have zero competitiveness........or both. Phil Turner should never see the court unless we are up 30. His ill advised shots and turnovers killed us. Barry's defense killed us. Stansburys substitutions killed us. Elgin Bailey not playing killed us. Dee Bost having no clue how to play point killed us.
That was far and away the most frustrating game I have seen. THe players, bless their hearts, are just stupid and so is their coach right now. If I still had my dog last night I would have kicked her. I was so upset I wanted to punch Meo and spank Ezekial of whatever his name is. THis has been a long year in MSU athletics.

is killing us and will likely continue with the transfer of Augustus. Stans is a relatively weak floor coach and that is nothing new. However with an experienced team who is solid in the half court defense and rebounding we are still fine with what he does even though we will always be somewhat lost on the offensive side unless we have a player or two that can create their own shot. That being said though, Stans and staff absolutely are NOT good enough coaches OR recruiters to constantly run good basketball players out of the program and have a team that will be truly NCAA tourney worthy much less one that will actually make noise once getting there. Having young, inexperienced players like we do now only magnifies the flaws in the coaching staff and that will continue unless we get a lot more continuity in the program. It amazes me that we have 3 starters transfer in 2 years and then Stans wants to belly ache about how we are young and not mentally tough.

Ok, here's a possible excuse for the team to look so ******. Are the student (athletes) on break right now. I am willing to bet 100% of our players went home to be the bigshots for the long weekend vs. a California team that was ready to play.

They are a small school with leftover talent, come in to an SEC school on Christmas break (meaning no students/fans, how many were there?) and did the same **** that makes them so successful. Did none of you dumbasses see the list of teams they beat last year? UK, UConn, etc. **** yeah, they got a good coach. Good players too. Big bodies vs. our group of ectomorphs. We get outrebounded, we lose because we can't shoot consistently.

Stewart should be limited to 2 three attempts a game and tell him to drive/pull up/shoot inside the arc; that's his game. Bost needs to work on some dribbling fundamentals. Beckham needs to shoot FTs for days, R. Johnson needs to see a shrink, etc.

This is going to be an ugly season unless someone (or two) take it for the what it is...a leaderless team. Really wish B. Johnson could play like he was supposed to. Also, give the team protein shakes and show them the weightroom. Damn...
