🤷‍♂️ You could be right, but we had a whole thread 'noticing' it and the new social media fad term 'woke right' just yesterday on here. You think the right has been doing this whacko stuff all along and the whole world just happened to notice all at the same time?

Okay, maybe so I guess. I certainly missed it.
When I was a child in the 1990s, I remember right wingers having a meltdown over a stupid kids show called Teletubbies because of the non-human cartoon characters was supposedly subliminally gay.

Then a little bit later, the Dixie Chicks got canceled for expressing mainstream views about the Iraq War (views that most Republicans agree with today in retrospect).

That's just 2 examples off the top of my head. I also have a memory of Baptists boycotting Disney World back in the mid-90s, but I'm not sure I remember all the details.

^^ And while we're on the subject of the right acting "whacko," let's not forget about the last time Republicans lost a presidential election.

Instead of just pouting and moving on with their lives, they created an entire alternate reality where tens of thousands of people colluded to steal the election, but never offered any proof or evidence, just accepting it on faith because they couldn't mentally accept that their candidate lost. Dozens of lawsuits went nowhere, as even Republican judges had no basis to do anything but throw them out, and it culminated with a rabid mob storming the Capitol to try to violently overthrow the government, beating up cops and even threatening to murder Democratic and Republican lawmakers if necessary.

There's no doubt there are some nuts on the left who act ridiculously, but I can't imagine the left will ever top that in America.

I guess I see why I could have missed those examples from the 90's. Regardless, 2 of the above involve the protection of children, which in some circles is considered a righteous cause. The third example, I'm sorry, I can't address that one because you deadnamed them. That is an automatic DQ.**

1. Everything is Trump's fault.
2. January 6
3. Wait, what is Step 3 in the playbook? No one knows because no discussion ever needs to get past Step 2.

Yes, when I cite the worst thing a US president has ever done, I don't really feel the need to keep going.

Lots of presidents before him (the first Bush, Carter, Ford, etc.) were undoubtedly devastated that the American people didnt give them a second term, but they took it like men and put country over self. It caused irreparable harm to this country that Trump couldn't do the same, and this his entire cultish fanbase enabled him in it.

It's game week. In an effort not to get this thread locked unneccesarily, I will end my participation in this fun chat. I'm sorry to everyone that it got brought up (again).

It's not even close. He had a Constitutional duty to faciltiate the transfer of power to the winner of the election (something all of his predecessors were able to do, most of whom were going to a different party), and instead he tried to overturn it and seize power for himself. It would have been the worst thing a president has ever done without the 1/6 insurrection, but the fact that it came to violence means it will probably never be topped by any future president.

It isn't righteous if it's just made up scare tactic BS that whips dummies into an outrage frenzy.

That sort of thinking is literally the defense of PizzaGate...'well I was just trying to protect the children!'

Nope, that isn't justifiable. There needs to be logic and reasoning to even begin to justify behavior.

The Teletubbies were a gay, tranny orgy fetish, 150 percent; even more so than Barney, that gay *** dinosaur that inspired the decor of that gay *** Planet Fitness.

Then a little bit later, the Dixie Chicks got canceled for expressing mainstream views about the Iraq War (views that most Republicans agree with today in retrospect).
Yes, Iraq and Afghanistan were quagmires of epic proportions and our troops have been nothing but political pawns since Korea and have been sent to war with their hands tied behind their back the whole time. But still, **** the Dixie Chicks.

it culminated with a rabid mob storming the Capitol to try to violently overthrow the government, beating up cops and even threatening to murder Democratic and Republican lawmakers if necessary.
Anyone that thinks that was an attempt to overthrow the gov't and an insurrection is an absolute 17ng idiot. I watched it and texted my buddy saying those morons are going into the Capitol. Anyone that showed up in DC was a moron because there was no way anything good was going to come of it.

There's no doubt there are some nuts on the left who act ridiculously, but I can't imagine the left will ever top that in America.

Dude, the political left absolutely loves and celebrates violence. They literally bombed the 17ng Capitol building. Did you forget the Summer long Festival of Floyd that Democrat politicians openly supported and egged on? Billions in damages, innocent people killed in an orgy of leftist horseshit all over a lifelong POS criminal and drug addict who died of fentanyl overdose. **** George Floyd. And now we have the tranny mafia gunning people/children down because the political left encourages and glorifies mental illness and once again violence as a means of being seen and heard. **** the trannies.

Wait a second. I posted something you disagreed with and that automatically means I'm irrational and over the top angry?

Maybe the problem is you are over sensitive and a dork.
I personally think that Dork is a majorly underrated cut down word. I respect your use of it. Bravo

Also, 3 different threads multiple pages long about Cracker Barrel’s logo is a bit stupid to me. I’m not well read on this issue, and I didn’t read the rabble associated with these topics, but if a business makes a bad decision, let them fail. That’s what weeds out the weak. It’s not always politically motivated, but Maybe this was. I don’t know. The concern about this topic is surprising.

I think I can rest my case.

To any "normal people" out there not sure which side they want to be on these days, I encourage you to look at me and look at this poster, and I'll respect your decision either way.

Most “normal people “ have been sure which “side “ they’re on for quite a while. Why can’t other people realize people have different opinions and views and beliefs and just LET IT 17ING GO! We’re about to have FOOTBALL. Let’s see how that goes and THEN argue about things. Stop being a wanker.
Having my mom in St D for a heart cath and a stint today brings a bit of perspective to the situation. Some of you 17ers have too much time on your hands to opine on irrelevant bullcuntshit.
ETA: apparently I’ve invented. a new ungovernable word

Trump sucks and is probably going to die soon (before Biden lolz). GOP sucks. Dems suck. Swamp is getting swampier. Anyone that says they can fix your problems from DC is full of it and wants your money. They suck too. Football is near. That will probably suck. Basketball will be meh to solid - not suck. Baseball might be awesome - far from suck!

I remember the teletubbies controversy because Falwell or some other religious right figure claimed one was gay. I was shocked. I thought they were all gay.
