Of course, we can make as much fun of it as we want to. A BB gun? He could put an eye out with that thing.

he recruited him afterall. We have to give Ray time to get his character guys in here. Besides we as MSU always blame the previous coach for at least 3-5 years after he is gone.

Marcus Bullard and Dontae Jones say gun crimes are a sign of a guy that will be a badass basketball player for MSU (but probably only for one year).

That was my first post. Any idea why it double posted? We will see if it does it again

If it is a misdemeanor, it isa stupid law that should be changed.

More importantly, the campus security idiots should refuse to arrest or chargeanyone for such a silly law (if it really is one). However, the campus security cops/guards are about on the same level as Mall Security. They want to be real cops, but they are too stupid or physically inadequate or both to be a real cop so they got a job working for campus security. They live for the day that they can arrest someone for some silly B.S. like possession of a BB gun.

They make some very realistic looking BB guns that will get you killed by a cop or a gangster that is packing real heat.

Dontae Jones may not have been a fan of the classroom, but don't be an idiot and lump him in with Marcus Bullard. Dontae is a good dawg fan.

You have taken a portion of my post out of context. I was obviously saying the law is just plain stupid. Possession of a BB gun should not be against the law anywhere or anytime.

You are stupid. I was very surprised to read it was not a felony and he wasn't kicked out of school.
Guns are not allowed on campus and especially not in dorms we. We have had enough incidents on campus and around the country that this is not to be played with

Markieff, I think.

The shitstorm that opposing fans threw at him that first year was slightly noticeable. Justified too.

just saying he was arrested or charged with discharging a firearm into a crowd and he was a badass when he played with state. Don't think any of that is disputed.

Actually, they are "real cops." They attend the same police academy as other municipal police and sheriffs' departments and are certified by the Mississippi Board of Police.

Cops in general are dicks. Just accept that as a fact of life and try to avoid them.

Are you serious?

Yes, gun violence by criminals is a a serious issue and should be handled as such. But we're talking about a BB gun. It's a TOY. What's next, felony possession of a water gun? Let's use some common sense here.

And yes, I'm fully aware that some of these Air Soft guns look very realistic. If you're dumb enough to start waving one of them around and acting like it's a real gun, you deserve whatever happens to you.

It looked like a 9mm or similar. Completely harmless. Of course, I was smart enough not to keep it sitting out or any other place it could be mistaken for a real gun. As long as toy guns aren't in areas / situations where real guns are used legally or illegally, it's still a toy to me. Once it ends up in your car or in your possession in public, you deserve a pretty healthy punishment - if not for actually breaking a gun law, then you deserve to be punished for being a dumbass.

ANY loaded gun of ANY type should not be on campus.

You call a BB gun a toy, but they can look like actual guns and also can still hurt others.
I have no idea why anyone would think it is OK to have something that looks like a real gun on campus. There is no place for that.

Saying this should be a felony is extreme, but i have no problem if the school or team dismissed him. Guns do not go on campus. Its a simple concept to understand...or at least should be simple.

Should we ban paintball guns, Nerf guns, and water guns? All of these could "look like real guns" or "hurt someone".

The bottom line is, a BB gun is a toy. Could it hurt someone if used improperly? Sure. But so could many other things found on every college campus in America.

The over reaction of some people regarding this issue is silly. The odds ofsomeone being killed by a BB gun are extremely low. As others have stated, the bows that most deer hunters have on campus are far more dangerous than a BB gun. And, again, if you do something stupid with a toy gun that looks like a real gun, you deserve whatever happens to you.

and I'm missing the subtle parody, but I can't resist: You would want somebody to lose their scholarship or got kicked out of school for basically having a toy on campus? Seriously?

so it's a misdemeanor to carry a frickin' pocket knife onto State's campus?
