Tatum was sent back to AAA today as a victim of baseball roster rules. Regarding Tatum, the Orioles have options remaining with him, so when starter Matt Weiters returned from the DL Craig was sent down even though he had been starting for the last few weeks. Back up Jake Fox, out of options, would have to clear waivers to be sent down. Therefore the O's sent down the better player in Tatum so they wouldnt lose Fox.
Sucks for Craig but its part of the buisness side of baseball that most people don't realize.
Hopefully he will be back to the big leagues soon. He has played well and has earned a reputation as a very good catcher. Look for him to be a big leaguer for a long time!
