It won a lot of ball games for the Raiders, and if I’m not mistaken Barns was a power, counter guy also he just ran it out of a different formation but that’s over some of you guys head.
It’s not over my head boss.

Barnes always had his team ready to play. As you said he was definitely a power/counter guy. He loves the short side of the field and the wildcat.

He was fantastic with the special teams. Ahead of every coach in the County in that regard.

However, it’s called smart to run power to the short side when you have Ledbetter Harbison, Jailin Moore, Back there and a huge offensive line.

He was smart to let Jon Bullard lead Ledbetter up through the hole and Ruin Catholic twice.

That stuff didn’t work for Eddins because he didn’t have the line or them horses.

He couldn’t adapt. It’s all he knew.

Over my head. Give me a break.

Rulz, I'm not getting into the whole over the head stuff, but I think you've hit a big nail on the head. Crest over the last 4 or 5 years just hasn't had the big massive good O line they had for many years. If y'alls RB this year had one of those he would have set state records.

You guys ain’t satisfied with nothing. I hate to tell you but you ain’t never gonna be another Shelby. You might beat them, like SP once in a while but y’all ain’t gonna win three or four championships in a row or six outta eight. SP ain’t either. When our boys are doing their best and stay around longer than most SP fans expect then yep I’m happy. If that’s the ugly woman your talking about then yea I love her. After all, I ain’t no prize myself. Like they say, beauty is only skin deep but damn ugly goes all the way to the bone.
I wholeheartedly agree Shelby is often imitated here in Cleveland County but never duplicated.

75% or better B-/C+ range
KM played 4A West Meck in 2019 right after WM finished 9-3 the previous year. KM was scheduled to play WM in 2020 before Covid ruined the schedule. 2019 WM finished 4-2(3rd) in their conference and made the playoffs. KM beat WM fairly easily 35-7 and could have easily tacked on another couple of td’s for style points if Lloyd wanted.

Cleveland County fans can be a little obnoxious at times but realistically the Cleveland County teams in most years would steamroll about 75% of Char-Meck public teams. No one talks about that part. I noticed most of the argument are usually centered on Cleveland Co. playing the 1-4 powerhouse Char-Meck teams which rotates every couple of years. Hough and Chambers will be tough outs for anyone not just CC teams. With the exception of MC, MP, AK, Catholic and the previous mentioned two teams, the other Char-Meck teams are like Tokyo being destroyed in those old Godzilla movies facing Cleveland County.

Your absolutely right Charlotte has 4-5 all star teams and the rest are average at best.. KM put it on WC in the playoffs

Well is there any coaching updates? Interviews?
I'll give you one hint because you're you. I can't say that this will take place but I know it's being seriously discussed on both sides. I'm going to change the name but hopefully you of all people can decipher what I'm trying to tell you.

No. I don't believe staff has even been discussed, but the community as a whole would love Koy Rirby for the DC job if Chance Stare would have him. We miss the diamond defense.

If you are talking about 20-30 years ago... Agree. Crest was the last one to go across the line and beat Indy at their height when nobody else could do it.

But present day...CC has four HSs in the county (realistically). Yall aren't losing much to any local charter school or anything. For the Meck. Co schools that "recruit/attract" whatever you want to call it like CC schools do....yall don't want any of that.
Ask one of HH best couple teams ever about that CC.
Yall don't want to see Mallard Creek, CC, Myers Park or Hough every year... because yall's advantage of quantity and quality is gone.

Nobody is talking about West Meck or West Charlotte. In the 80s/90s most definitely....but not now.

I was responding to the comment that CC schools are afraid of any “half way decent” Meck County schools and I asked what is considered a “decent” Mecklenburg team. I agree with some of the things that you said about quality. Again it seems that everyone wants to measure CC against the very best that Mecklenburg has to offer. I guess being being huge 4A schools are not enough of an advantage for those that say this. All that I am saying is you just cannot simply state that any decent Mecklenburg county team will win in a head to head against a CC football team. It will take a little more than that. I was simply stating that KM beat a decent West Meck team at WM which may have been their worst regular season loss of the season. KM stepped on WC’s neck this past season in playoffs after multiple comments/opinions about how WC were going to win the state because of who they play.
