Seriously though, we have nothing but the utmost respect for SP. Wish them nothing but the best in 5A. Whether our new coach or our new conference is the biggest reason for a 9-3 season this year is debatable and I’m sure everyone has their own opinion. However I will say for the first time in the history of SC (All 12 years of tradition) the kids, parents, and community have a reason to be excited. As long as our coach stays (hope he never leaves) SC will be a factor in 4A (based on our enrollment the division we were placed in) from now on. I think the community hates that SC doesn’t play SP anymore however that decision was made by the administration. I mean SP/SC kids go to the local McDonalds after every game Friday night. Pretty sure there is not a fear factor amongst the kids to play each other. Hopefully the SC administration will let them play again in the coming years. Guy once told me it is all about the kids having a great experience in high school during their time there playing football and I am glad that the kids at SC finally have that opportunity.
The community hates you don't play SP anymore? LOL come on man. I'm glad SC kids have an opportunity to have a good experience too. They would've had the same experience under the old coach if he had this league instead of the old league. Still - if one or two people over there wanted to play, it wouldn't be hard to arrange.

Hey man I know “you guys” wanted the old coach to stay forever but this is getting embarrassing….

SP and Cramer should at least scrimmage
I was told that the decision to remove SP from the schedule in every sport (no basketball or baseball either) for 2 years was made by the 2 people over the school and over every sport at SC, but the idea that the parents and kids made that decision is just wrong. Trust me I have done enough lobbying on some the changes that were made so lobbying for the schedule is not something I have the time to take on.

This above was the whole point of replying to the passive aggressive tactics of the SC posters all over this topic. Yet another new poster that has arrived in the last month or two proclaiming SC is a future football power and with advice for SP. Did yall all work on Biden's campaign, too? It's ok to sleep on SC football. Shelby and Burns will be back up to speed next year.
So Shelby stinks this year? Crest guys, I’m asking for an honest assessment of Shelby. Would SP hammer Shelby? Maybe they would but since you guys played them both I would like to know your thoughts.

Biden’s campaign? That’s hilarious man. All I said was I wouldn’t sleep on them.

And I’m not giving you guys any advice. I’m a fan. Lot in the pipeline, with the middle school group coming up. I know them well.

LOL. Crest will probably be very honest about this. Shelby got the help of a lot of flags in their game vs. Crest. SP didn't get any flags to need help in that game a week ago.

This back and forth is entertaining but I will acknowledge our opinions will never be the same, so I will end it with good luck to the Cleveland County schools this weekend and hopefully Gaston County has representation this time next year whether that be 4A,5A, or 6A

yeah good luck to all of them. I always want the west to win in the state games anyway. No matter the conference ... gotta go win games to keep playing. Hopefully all the teams give their best efforts rest of this year and into next year to make good football games happen.

Until the two county’s have the same rule as far as transferring, Gaston county will struggle with Cleveland county. With these teams being in the same conference and having two different transfer rules is stupid. Play for Crest in football and transfer to Burns for baseball. It’s happening…

Do you think Gaston County will ever allow in county transferring without sitting out a year? Colleges cut out the sit out year a few years back. I’m sure Cleveland County does not think it is up to them to change their rules to be “fair” to Gaston County, and I agree with that. Hopefully Gaston County will change their rule to even the playing field.

I honestly doubt it. I don’t think they are too concerned about sports as much as they are over crowding the schools. As you seen with Ashbrook this year getting 7 players from KM. That’s a big deal, KM was the worse they have been in years and Ashbrook was the best they have been in 20 years. Makes a difference

It's pretty basic man if you are running an offense that no one else really runs then that means that they've figured out that it doesn't work bottom line

I really hope you keep trolling because you are making me laugh, but seriously that offense is very effective against basically everyone they play. Crest and Ashbrook had really athletic fast defenses with high level D1 talent on it. It generally takes a very talented disciplined team to slow it down and even sometimes that isn’t enough.

7 players from KM…wow, didn’t realize they had that many. Better players definitely help.

Sure it’s not sexy but that’s not the point. I don’t know how long or many times you have seen the offense ran but in the playoffs it is the “great equalizer “. Everyone runs the spread, you see it 8 plus times a year. Discipline and hard nose football. Ask Monroe how it went this year, they didn’t even know who had the ball. Yes this Crest and Ashbrook teams are very gifted but even with those two teams we were in the thick of it with chances to win except the first Crest game.

I agree with most of what you are saying but I would say your defense kept you in the Ashbrook and 2nd Crest game. Offense struggled a bit, but again those are 2 elite defenses who have seen your offense over the years so they are not a Monroe coming into the game looking like they just got Chinese arithmetic put in front of them.

Absolutely defense played great. Just talking in general about the offense and it’s definitely a disadvantage to run into a team that you have already played and play every year.

Ashbrook and Crest are the only two teams to beat SP in the last two years.
Ashbrook and Crest have recruited players. Sure...they have majority kids that are supposed to go there, but if want to make sure you are pushed over the edge and can make the deepest runs in playoffs either team has made in the last decade....they added 5-10 "plus" guys. It makes a difference.
If they hadn't have done that - they know what the result would've been. Cheating doesn't garner you any respect.
KetchupSCramerfan - don't make youreself a target.
