Croom Pats Himself on the Back for Great Career at MSU
In fact, this is what pisses me off the most about his tenure. He had an opportunity that he talked about on the Say It Loud program to further AA coaching prospects and be a leader to some of these kids "who had never before seen a black man in a position of authority" and he chose loyalty to Woody McCorvery and a stupid failed offense over those two very important things. You failed miserably, Croom, and don't insult MSU by acting like that record is somehow considered success in Starkville.
And this is what I find most interesting:
That makes one of us.We were on the right track. I have no doubt about that.
Whatever you want to tell yourself big guy. I'm sure that stellar 21-38 record makes other AD's salivate to hire minorities."I think some of the myths about minorities not being able to function or lead a program, particularly in the South ... I think we destroyed those," Croom said.

Just can''t take the bullet can you big man? You got your buyout money to say you resigned, but once again, you have too much pride. Every interview I've seen has him busting at the seems to get it out there that he was fired without really saying it. Finally it comes out in an article but it doesn't have any quotes around there. Nice job.Croom resigned after being informed by new Mississippi State athletic director Greg Byrne that he planned to go in another direction.
