Dont post alot but I am a student at Tennessee and a State fan all in one... one of the recent threads on UT's Volquest Rivals Site has Croom being spotted in Knox and that he will be the new RB coach after Wilson left. Thought this was a good laugh

Croom would be an okay hire. Coach running backs and play the fatherly figure in the homes of black recruits.

If you keep him away from clock management, decisions on offensive system, gameplanning, aggressive recruiting, etc. you will be okay.

Croom's incompetence had nothing to do with his ability to coach an individual position. The man is competent in the right role. Croom as head coach at an SEC program is like making Bea Arthur star of a porno. Not the right person for the role.
