I have been harassed and berated for my support of Croom (our current football coach, very ironic) over the last couple of weeks. Do you guys still feel the same way after we took down the #13 team in the country?

by the end of the season they won't even receive any votes in either the AP or ESPN polls. I'm actually a little pissed we didn't beat them worse than we did (we should have), but a win's a win so I'll take it.

And he did it without the aid of a pick 6! Croom supporters should be proud.

And in just year 5 of his contract, Croom needs only one more SEC victory to achieve double digits for conference wins. This is truly a spectacular achievement. 9-26!

A) I don't 'think' they are the 13th best team in the country...I know that they were ranked 13th nationally when we beat them. Unfortunately, I don't get a vote in either poll.

B) It's ironic that most of you claim to be dog fans but refuse to support our head coach.

C) I care very little about your predictions for the rest of VU's season and their end of season ranking. They have beaten several quality teams this year, and I am proud of our guys for pulling it out.

A) Clemson was in the top ten at the beginning of the season, and just fired their head coach, so that tells you what you need to know about the polls.

B) My "dog fan" credentials are unquestionable, and my support for our head coach is completely predicated on what occurs on the field. A lot of his decisions have been atrocious, and my support for him reflects that.

C) Meh, whatever.

and not repeatedly embarrassed us we might support him a little more. He did inherit a bad situation, but 19-34 isn't even close to being acceptable.

You almost could during auburn. But nope. More bonehead decisions in that one. Was is before Georgia Tech? You know the game where they could have named the score? Had to keep your mouth shut there too. La Tech was the coming out game for us.. did you have it ready there? They made Cr--m look like a fool also. Couldn't do it after LSU either... couldn't justify the call to sit on the ball before the half. So now you have Vandy. A game were Special teams almost cost us the game again. Amazing that it takes one game for all the Cr--m supporters to come running back and screaming that Cr--m is the man for the job. But you had to keep your mouth shut for five games in order to come preach that crap. Amazing that that idiot ESPN blogger said that all the people that are grumbling have short memories. Seems the supporters have very short ones. You have already forgotten the first games of the year. So be happy with Cr--m. you better. Support is dwindling. When reports of fan grumbling hits the national media. It's so widespread that it's only a matter of time unless he pulls some smarts and effort out of his *** real soon.

I bitched and moaned about a lot of the other dumbass calls he's made, but still supported him. After last season, I had expectations again for the first time in 7 years. Cynical expectations, but expectations nonetheless. The La Tech game I still put on LT. I gave Croom the benefit of the doubt. There's no way on God's green Earth that we should ever have to play a shittyass team like that on the road, especially the 1st game of the season. And now we know why.

However, when Croom & Co. went for it on 4th and 15 against Auburn, I threw in the white towel. I gave up. The punt from the 30 yard line at UGA right after we went for it and got it on the 40 yard line was mind-boggling stupid, but not as dumb and defining of how dumb a coach he really is as was the 4th & 15 call. There's just no way to defend that. None.

Therefore, I will continue to cheer my beloved Bulldawgs, but I can't support Croom any longer. He is not Mississippi State University. Mississippi State University is Mississippi State University and she deserves better than what we currently have. So, what I suggest you do is take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, "Are we ever going to be competing for Championships with Croom at the helm?" I think you will start thinking about how bad our offense still is in its 5th year and might, just might, come to the realization that there actually, quite possibly is a more qualified candidate to lead our program. Croom is not the guy. It sucks cause his story is a great one, but simply put, he's in over his head leading an SEC program.

around here after this Saturday's game and post what a great coach he is...While he didnt get a "pick-6", the defense did set him up at about the 10 once to get an easy score...also, thank Bobby Johnson for keeping his best QB on the bench for 3 quarters. I loved reading today how Adams is now the starter...

We have beaten Vandy and a ****** 1-AA team...i'd be careful tootin his horn just yet...

Yes I still feel the same way. One 17in win and I'm supposed to be on the Croom bandwagon. Are you 17in kidding? Sorry but I expect more than a single win against a decent opponent per year. That plus the fact that one win doesn't undo all the times Croom has been a complete embarrassment: one dumbass call after another every single games, losing to teams he has no business losing too (Maine, La Tech, etc.), hiring an offensive coordinator not based on his qualifications but based on the fact they are friends, oh and did I mention that the coordinator had no experience running the offense MSU would use. So yeah, 17 Croom. That is the problem, people like you are satisfied with one goddamn win a year. If we finish 2-10, 3-9, or 4-8, who gives two ***** about beating Vandy.

He wins one game and you pull out this crap. Pathetic.

I can't wait for the responses saying "but we are MSU we will never compete for championships under any coach in the future." I think its very logical for us to invest in a new coach. That fits into one of these categories or a combination of them: That is young/has proven they can run a strong offense/has had success at the school they coach at currently/and is not a liar. We can find a coaching gem out in the market that can come in and have more wins than Crxxm does in just 3 years(maybe too optimistic).

can't win 7-8 games every year and go to the SEC championship game once every 5 or 6 years. It's very doable, will just take the right coach.

We could drop them off at a hospital in Omaha under Nebraska's safe-haven law like so many are doing in that state with their disfunctional teenage kids.

we needed a defensive pick and run back to the Vandy 7 to provide the winning points...we had 245 yards against the SEC's 10th ranked D....

Tennessee is down and we may stay in the game, but dont act like Crooms is going to go in there and pull off a victory

You act as if we don't pay him. He gets paid 1.7M to get criticised. I have never understood the steadfast loyalty to some one you pay so much, he should be held to a much higher standard than a hourly wage earner at McDonald's.

Keep drinkin the 17ing Kool-Aid. You people are the reason why MSU has accepted mediocrity ever since the existance of MSU football.

Congrats Sly 9-26 in year 5...

I have been one of the most ardent Croom supporters on this board since he arrived, but I am done. There are several reasons why I am done, but the one that still gets me pissed when I think about it is trading a down for one yard in the GT game. I wasted money going to that game at that stupid call has pretty much put Croom's tenure in perspective for me.

is not really that impressive. If we were 4-2 I'd be excited and 3-3 would have kept me on board. There's no excuse for this record with this schedule.
