I always thought that if/when we fire Croom that it would be a PR nightmare. But this latest Comment (I am the OC... fire me..) really gives us an open window to make a move. So if we make a move, then he just gave us an answer to all the questions of WHY.

and he never faced any serious challenge from his prior boss about the incredibly ****** performance of his program. Why should Croom ... or we ... expect his dismissal to be about his performance as a coach? May as well be about his incredible ego.

It's time to simply bite the bullet, get the pain over with, take our potshots from talking idiots like Frank DeFord and other race baiters, and give this new AD a chance to punch his ticket to the AD office of a real player. This football coach hire may determine just how far Byrne goes in the AD world. I'm hoping we can keep him for three more years.

and this quote is the beginnings of that. He's not going to change, and he's basically challenging anyone and everyone to take it up with him if they don't like the offense. In other words, if you don't like it, fire me.

I don't get the feeling that Croom will be devastated if he's fired. In his mind, he's done what he set out to do. And he WILL NOT change offensive mindset or coordinators.

as a possible outcome. Slowly. He's got a suicide by cop thing going on with these baffoonish comments.
