Exactly. That makes no sense. If you're really all about getting the best athletes on the field, you determine by about the 3rd game who is good enough that they need to be on the field immediately. You don't decide that in the 8th game. Seems to me that he's getting desperate at the moment. You don't just up and decide in the 8th game that a guy is now good enough to play this year.

I'd be pissed if I were Clark. Most players would rather redshirt than play a handful of plays in 5 games.

I don't know about you guys, but this sounds like a quote from a man who is fairly certain he won't be around much longer.

In all honesty, I think that Croom is half right in doing this. When you're a head coach at any level, you do whatever the hell it takes to win ballgames. If Croom is just now realizing in game 8 that Clark could help us, then the man is a dumbass, but he did the right thing if it helped us win the game no matter how many touches he got.

With that being said, this goes completely against everything that Sly has preached since coming to State. Building a foundation, teaching these men how to succeed at life, creating a program... You can throw all that crap out the door when you take an entire year of a kid's eligibility away to give him the ball once. The man truly is a walking contradiction.
