Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson needs 81 more rushing yards and no touchdowns to break the record set by former NFL RB Tiki Barber (715) for the most rushing yards to open a regular season without scoring a touchdown.

The man can keep anybody out of the end zone

Croom was quoted as saying "Winston Churchill say that running backs like Stephen Jackson are similar to college wide receivers. You can find one on every street corner in Miami".

St. Louis is 3rd in the NFC in most punts, just 2 punts from #1. St. Louis will probably be the runaway leader by the end of the season.

Say what you want about Croom, but he was right with that quote. Decent receivers and running backs are a dime a dozen. Great ones might not be, but there are tons of guys in the NFL at skill positions that were overlooked.
Quarterbacks and offensive lines can make subpar receivers look like All Americans. Chris Collins and Bill Flowers at OM shined not b/c they were any more talented than any other 6'0" 180 lb WR that can run under a 4.7, but b/c of Eli and the OL. Come to think of it, Tremaine Turner played RB on that team and looked pretty good, even though he was one of the least talented RB's I've ever seen starting for an SEC team

if it was the fact that he said that or the fact that he seemed to do nothing about it (getting them) that made it ridiculous. i think it was the fact that he never got them, and if he did he had no idea what in the hell to do with a WR.
