Just read an article about UT recruiting and it stated that they were looking to add a few more before signing day.

"With 14 members of the highly touted class already on campus and 20 other verbal commitments, most of the work appears done for Tennessee and coach Butch Jones."

Thought there was a hard 25 player signing limit in the SEC with a limited exception for those that signed the previous year that didn't make it to school. How can they add ~34+ new signees?

Thanks,

Can't you count back with December signees that count for this year's class but you took them from the previous years class. Or something like that.

mid year enrolles can be back-counted to previous classes that didn't sign the full 25. IIRC about 6 - 10 of their 2013 class was back-counted to 2012 (mid year enrolles), so they had spots in the 2013 class to back-count these guys to.

You still must be at 85 when fall camp starts, but you can have 120 guys up til that point.

Can't you only back count a limited number? Maybe I'm making that up.
