Tickets down to $13 lower level and $30 for chair backs. This should hopefully get the ball rolling to chairback the whole lower level, because we aren't going to need 63,000 seats anymore.

Yep. A good capacity would be 50-55k with lots of amenities…. Athletics could make more money off of less people.

Not if you don't quit whining to everyone who will listen that our gameday experience sucks.
I mean there is obviously a problem right? Great weather, good opponent, and we still can't even get close to selling out our stadium. So, there is some problem with either the gameday product or how we are marketing the team. The lowest attendance since Mullen left by year: 2018: 54,289 / 2019: 54,556 / 2021: 44,649

Well, I mean it’s because we have progressively sucked more since Mullen left. If we start winning again, more people will come.

Exactly… if/when leach starts winning, people will come back. Just how it is. I’ll be there today and I’m excited about it.

I agree, I just think the floor for attendance is lower now that when it was with Moorhead or Mullen. Tonight is huge for the program, and for attendance. If we win tonight, and take of business next week at Memphis, we should be ranked or on the verge of being ranked and 3-0 with a good chance to beat LSU.

Let’s enlarge the baseball stadium and reduce the football stadium!

Normally people ***** abt prices. Well price is right currently! Let’s see who goes!

For the record, I won’t be there Bc I’m in KC working for 4 weeks, but I would if I wasn’t out of town.

The problem is we made a bad hire and Covid.

The game day experience is part of that but not the main part (maybe equal parts).

If we win and then beat Memphis, you’ll see a large crowd for lsu. If we lose, lsu won’t be as large.

So, it's either product quality or marketing, huh? Talk about creating a false dilemma by ignoring the elephant in the room. I suspect that for some people the gameday experience is not worth the risk of Covid. That might be impacting attendance just a tad, especially when every game is on tv.

Someone posted 30k scanned last week. I will guess 35K scanned this week.

With that said, covid is biggest obstacle here. HOwever, without covid, Id say 50K would be the number.

What will be interesting today, to me, is the student section. I am sure they will fill the north endzone. However, I am interested to see, if the NE sections for students (16 and 17) on the east side, are mostly unused again. 20K students. Surely, they don't need to reduce the student section to just the endzone.

I’m not making excuses but in the sporting events I’ve watched even going back to the year before Covid you were starting to see more and more empty seats across multiple sports in multiple leagues. Anything involving our baseball team excluded. I think the television product has just gotten to the point where folks are choosing no traffic and the ability to be watching other games when you would have been commuting/sitting in traffic. I predict you’re going to see something similar in the NFL after these teams have opening home games. Teams and leagues are going to hafta step up their game day experience if the current business models are going to be profitable.

No doubt covid is keeping some away. We have a pretty big elderly crowd that has season tickets. I wouldn’t blame them for staying away if they don’t feel safe.

You see empty seats at 75% or more of our baseball games.

You see a packed house for abt 15% of them.

Well, I would like to go but I read the comments on here about the bird **** covered seats, long lines, hard pretzels and stinky cups and what an overall horrible experience it is. I just don't know what I would do if I sat in birdshit or my pretzel was hard

I'm always delighted when my pretzel is hard.

Good point and a point that I feel is being mostly ignored. The video boards are nice. However, the seats, view and ammentities haven't changed much in the 40 years Ive been going to games. Schools need to add larger comfortable seating. Improve the customer service. Bring back the vendors walking a cold drink and hot food to your seat.

See yall down there.

Nobody sells out midweek games smartass, it’s full the more important the game, maybe you missed all the postseason, especially the 20,000 in Omaha. The point was baseball has not seen the drop off that has plagued other leagues and sports.

Do you seriously expect to see a city of 30,000 pack in 12-15,000 when a large number of those seats are purchased by people that live 1-1 1/2 hours away?

Looks like a decent crowd, at least on the west. They haven't shown the east side yet.
