Game I was at was poor and I heard from others that they also saw less than overwhelming fans in the stands last night.

You? How was your crowd last night? And be honest....

LWE was down on the home side. No marching band as they were travelling to a competition. Round one had a good size group from St. Charles. I would guess Down 300 from the Brook game at East last week.

Great crowd at Washington. Stands filled. Provi had about 350-400 on our side, of course it included some Washington faithful which I found odd and some of the Metamora team. Really nice facility at Washington, love the two story VIP building in the northwest corner.

Wauconda, which is only about ten minutes away from CG, had a decent visitor crowd but CG’s stands were not full...probably 90%. Great student section turnout on both sides but overall a bit disappointing in the turnout for CG.

I was rather impressed by the crowd size at WWS home side was half filled for the kick off at 6pm but mostly filled in by half. I wasn’t expecting as many as showed.

For Belleville the crowd was small as expected, I was surprised they didn’t opt to play on Saturday with the long drive.

Rochester vs Breese Central ...Rochester crowd was lighter than usual. Probably about 75% of what was there last week for the Chatham game. Breese Central didn’t travel to well either.

A big part of the CG crowd is usually the Jr Trojans football players. There was a dance at the junior high last night too so that could explain some of the missing crowd, if you count their parents too.

Jr players don’t sit in the stands. Maybe their parents do, if they are there...

MC/TF game was horrible. Not many students went and they were given a half day. I know with a 4pm start they may have had transportation issues with parents working but I know a lot of them watched the stream of it and some said it was going to be a blowout.

Very good home crowd at Hersey, but the almost 2-hour trip in Friday rush time traffic by LWC fans was not made in significant numbers.

I'm in Ukraine and wasn't at Oak Park and River Forest for OPRF vs New Trier. Saw some video highlights on Twitter; the home grandstand appeared to packed between the 30-yard lines, not so much in the corners (grandstand spans entire length of the field including the end zones, and the corner areas aren't the best for viewing the entire field). There seemed to be a decent turnout in the visiting bleachers for New Trier, not bad considering the start time that was at the tail end of a typical wall-to-wall Friday night rush hour.

I think in general Saturday crowds are smaller than Friday night crowds.

I could not find a competitive game I wanted to see this week so I did not go to a game. There are too many teams in the playoffs and too many brackets.

The 1st round of games is pretty much a waste of time and then the 2nd round they get better.

Need to go back to 6 classes with 1 to 32 seeding. This will greatly help attendence.

McCaravan:

As I surveyed the landscape on both sides of the field, I would have to agree the both teams were underrepresented in the stands.

As far as the game, I must admit I was impressed with MC's new offense. In contrast to the previous thirty-five years, decades in which MC ran the veer or "crawl-ball," I am inclined to say the Caravan adapted quite well to a new offense. The QB threw crisp passes, and the run game was fairly solid. Although I had seen MC play once earlier this season in a win against LA in Wilmette, I found MC had improved and was playing better at the end of the season than in week three, which is always a sign of superb coaching.

Aside from the game, I have to say MC's round-one game against TFS revealed dreadful but entertaining officiating. I sat among a mass of die-hard MC fans, all of whom were howling with laughter at the high number of flags thrown and the officiating crew mishandling the field mic. The stretch of the game which drew the most uproarious laughter was in the third quarter when the officials required an extensive period of time to solve the riddle of a simple infraction. I don't recall the penalty, but my ears are still ringing at the wailing from MC fans surrounding me.

As an aside, I would also like to again thank the MC fan who helped me extract my car from the disorganized mess which some would describe as a parking lot at Gately. Leaving ahead of the final gun, I stumbled onto a car "creatively" parked in a way I concluded the driver must have been intoxicated or blind to not see he had obstructed my exit.

Appealing to the better nature of one MC fan who was leaving at the same moment as I, he saw my predicament, alighted from his car, and took the time to guide me from three cars enclosing mine.

As far as the A@@hole who blocked me in, I hope you got two flat tires on the way home.

Crawl ball is what it is. Don't shoot the messenger. Also remember Lenti was the one who decided Mt. Carmel wasn't good enough for the Blue.

Good not great....again not much seating at the nice 3A facilities at Minooka but the fans always turn out...also Loyola had a nice group of fans (again really poor seating for visitors etc.....
Yeah I hear ya on the facilities. You can tell there hasn't been much done to improve the stadium in a long time. Even still I think the fans, ambiance and lack of not being cookie-cutter like many new stadiums provides a unique atmosphere. Still surprising considering how much growth and enthusiastic the community is about football that a face lift hasn't been done.

I loved Metamora’s facilities. I love kids playing on grass. The PA system was awesome. Scoreboard equally impressive. First field I’ve been too that had two huge play timing displays in each end of the field so the qbs can see to snap the ball. Best thing about it? They worked!!!! I thought more Metamora fans would be there though. But the few I talked to were class act people. Hats off to Metamora.

You have a stick up your butt so far your breath smells of oak.

Get over it. You'll be thought of as a troll, and, trust me, you don't want that.

OK crowd at Marist - both Stevenson's and Marist's bands were there to keep things lively and loud.
The crowd at Gately for Kenwood vs CSL was what you would expect

Lenti should be ostracized for his downgrading of his own people. Off the island.

And I love getting your panties in a bunch so don't underestimate the enjoyment of trolling.

Very average crowd at Boylan. The student section was about 1/3 of the normal crowd. Many students were taking the ACT test on Saturday. Glenbard South didn't travel well.

Good home crowd for Naz and Andrew traveled very well. If going to Naz for Round 2, know:
  • minimal parking on the campus and many of the residential streets south of Ogden forbid game time parking
  • find a restroom inside the stadium before getting on the road home
  • I'll take Naz over Hersey on Saturday, by at least 2 TDs - what a collection of football bodies for the former.

Is the tent still up? I want to ensure I have coverage against the elements now that we are into November!
