Hard to beat a team twice - Does Chatham get their first win against a team with a winning record?

Glenwood was up 13-7 in the 3rd quarter of their first matchup with Normal West...
I see similarities between this year's squad and the '23 Titans who were young, outmatched at times, but then made a surprise run to the 6a Quarterfinals.

jchs had 8-1 jax down 14-0 at the end of q1. lost by 7.
jchs lost by 3 to 5-5 bcm.
jchs lost 14-7 to 8-1 breese.
jchs lost 14-7 to 7-2 freeburg.

there's 4 potential wins. they're big and physical i do realize their season ends friday though.
Has me thinking Centralia might be better than originally believed. I think we see another interesting matchup past this week for whomever wins Mac/MTZ... Centralia appears to be very good.

Jersey clearly earned their way into this SHG game... but they wake up from the dream this week.

SHG has to make it to the Rochester game in the 4A bracket or it's another embarrassing let down of a year for Coach Allison. Honestly, if he doesn't take this team to state in 4A I think it's also quite a let down. He needs it more than anyone too. First time he's come into the playoffs without 3 or more losses on the books and now gets 4A runs for being "down" for a few years leading up to this.

2023 - Morris 39-36 (5A 2nd round)
2024 - JCA 49-0 (5A 2nd round)
2025 - Rochester 41-35 (4A QF)

To this point, Allison has been unable to win the big games when they matter the most (the playoffs). Yeah, yeah, "they were young." No one's buying that... It's SHG... they don't rebuild, they reload. They expect it, thus so should we as the outsiders looking in. Regular season triumphs are solid to this point, and this year's team has proven more than once they can win close games. But those are premier programs SHG can't feel good losing to the past 3 years. I can't imagine that's skipping their minds in this bracket this year. Plus, to add a fun wrinkle into the mix... an old "friend" in Metamora could be waiting for them next round.

No one has more to prove in the 4A bracket than John Allison and his Cyclones, imo. If he can't win 4A with this team... can he ever?

Maybe Morris, as they've listened to the talk about Rochester all season and quietly gone about their business as usual up north. But we'll save that for the title game when they get there... ;)

In your view, was the 215 weight estimate for their RB legit?

When my son played, they added 2 inches in height and 15 pounds to him on the roster sheet.

All.... I don't know. His height at 6"0" looked right and not lean. I would say 200 plus. On a different note the Panther fans brought a huge crowd many wearing columbia blue playoff shirts. I had arrived fairly early to the stadium thinking parking would be an issue with Irish fans wooping it up. Nope but the Jerseyville faithful were tailagting and I talked with them a bit. Nice folks.

I sat on their side of the stands and the" lucky" rodent had a lady directly behind me blowing a loud air horn for the first few minutes of the game. As many of you know that's a no no in playoff games. A few minutes later a gent came up into the stands with a PND hat on likely the AD and nicely explained to her the rule. Quiet for ten minutes and then another one started going off a bit higher in the stands. Well back he came and said loudly no air horns but those cow bells (and there were a bunch of them getting shaken lol ) was fine. A good game and fun time. Ratsy
