Recruiting class will be very good again and that makes three years straight of way above average classes. Spack will no question be a candidate for various openings (he was last year as well) and never say never but for now I think he stays at least one more year. Again never say never.....but his son I believe is a junior at ISU and I just have a feeling he could wait a year and once his son graduates at ISU then moves on....

I have spoken to Coach Spack on various occassions. I do believe he will be a candidate - more next year than this one. However, I do think he is committed to ISU and its future.
However, he has made a lot of comments lately about how the MVC can compete with other FBS schools - mainly in the MAC, SunBelt, ConfUSA, etc. There is no doubt talk among ADs on how to address the 63 schoolies in FCS vs 85 up on FBS

When you add 22 you either have to cut 22 other mens (which is nearly impossible at ISU) or you have to then add 22 more as well to womens to meet Title IX.

I do think the NCAA needs to explore further the ratio of mens sports schoolies to womens. There is unfortunately not a revenue generating womens team at ISU - volleyball puts in a respectible 2000 a game at Redbird but it breaks even at best.
So perhaps a 3 to 2 schoolie instead of a 1 to 1.

From an attendance perspective- it's complete BS about the attendance requirement the NCAA has for 15000 per game average.
Eastern Michigan and Akron haven't done that in over 4 years.

I could see having an average per game attendance at 10000 being more realistic for non-Power conferences and 25000 for Power Conferences (note there were a couple of Illinois games where there might have been 18000 butts in seats)

With the advance of online packages etc they need to modify this since a lot of people subscribe now to watch games instead of travelling to go watch in person.

Seems like a good time to make some improvements in facilities... Horton was outdated 25 years ago when I was there.. Not sure how much desire there is to jump to FBS, but may be time to explore..
