Linked are just some random thoughts on several worthy candidates for Player of the Year

CSN: Player of the Year race shapes up
After seeing him play in the playoffs last year I thought before the season began, that Brodner was one of if not the best players in the state. You are right that he does not have great individual stats this year especially compared to last year. I think it's because last year he carried the load and this year he is sharing it. But his team is undefeated so they must be doing something right. But he still gets no respect from Rivals. On your list you have him ranked at NO.34 in the state. If there are 33 players better than Brodner in the state this year, this must be a great year for talent in Illinois.

At this stage I personally could care less about star rankings. I've been an advocate for Sam for well over two years now.
