He gets turned down for the major league job and then doesn't re-sign for the AAA job? Is this as messy of a divorce as it seems like from the surface?

He wants to manage in the bigs, feels like he is ready, but didn't get the Cubs job, so he's leaving the organization. Not that hard to understand. He's disappointed, as anyone would be, but not bitter. It's not really a surprise to anyone that he didn't go back to Iowa. Anyone other than a Cardinal fan trying to start something, that is.

Where does he go from here? Which big league job is he ready for and which teams are interested in him? Does he go to someone else's minor leagues, if no big league jobs are available?
