Curious. What was the consensus of opposing fans around the SEC?

I don't read any other boards but I was wondering what the other fans around the sec thought of the new Dudy Noble.

I saw a couple of LSU fans who were blown away on Twitter. Said that we would be so far in front of everybody it would be ridiculous.

LSU buddy of mine commented that we'd be way out front for a long time.

Question (and seriously not being a smart *** here), what are your thoughts about Stricklin signing his resignation letter after you have now seen the renderings? Am genuinely curious.

most if not all are giving us major props. go read the rant....they are pretty much fapping to the pics. its pretty shockingly awesome to most of them and i count myself in with that group.

its going to be nice referring to every other stadium in the nation as "a dump" as we see fit. best part, we are one of a handfull of teams in the nation that could justify doing something like this and the others that have a similar claim hare recently shot their load in that regard with recent upgrades already. we should be number 1 for a while and i really dont think there will be a close second.

I take back everything bad I ever said about stricklin. This blew away what I was expecting bc I just knew it was going to be screwed up but I was totally wrong. Will I miss the rigs?..absolutely. Do I think it takes away some of the character that has grown organically out there...yes. BUT I'll get over it. I think there was a lot of thought and care put into this concept and it shows. Overall grade: A++

One of the only things improvements I think that could be made to this plan is having larger overhangs on the grandstands.

People (MSU fans)

have got to start learning that MSU post-LT and MSU during the LT years are two completely different ends of the spectrum.

Auburn grad at work came up to me and asked me where we got the money to build something like that.

Florida and Arkansas guys came up to my desk and asked if I had seen it, and the Vanderbilt guy in the cubical next to mine scooted over and jokingly said something like "yeah, but how many titles do y'all have?" and then something about how Vanderbilt can't get ahead.

Seen a great deal of pissing in cereal bowls by Ole Miss fans saying 1) we're only doing this because they made the CWS 2) we're copying their stadium 3) theirs is still nicer 4) it'll never be built.

ETA: I am quite worried about the finances involved. It's an ambitious project for $40 when we also have to pay for demolition.

I was hoping that some of the long time attending fans were also blown away by it. Good to know.

I've been trying to believe that this AD and his office are taking the best possible routes with changes and that is why I was being a smart *** earlier. Stricklin has me convinced now that we need to trust them.

About the lounge: I have always believed that the people made the lounge what it is but that they needed to have grills, access to booz, and a place of ownership in the space out there. The beat up old trucks are fun and crazy but they don't make it what it is to me. Like I said in another thread though, I am slightly concerned about the potential for a massive increase in foot traffic out there. Could be seen as good or bad depending in the person. Overall, A+ for the entire project and an A++ for keeping the lounge in tact and doing their best to upgrade it.

also, they had to do something. it was just a matter of time before someone got seriously hurt out there. some standardization as far as safety, function, and structure is a good thing to mix in with what makes lfl unique.

Rendering

This has been one hell of a day, and I honestly couldn't have imagined a more spectacular stadium in my mind. I'm blown away. This will, no doubt, give us a recruiting advantage over any of the top programs in college baseball. But I do have to question the 40$ million dollar estimate on construction cost. With the large scale of the project, and the features and amenities, my eyes tell me 65-80 million dollar range. How does this come out at 40 million?

The people building the endzone will be used again. The endzone will not be finished in time according to experts. Fines for not finishing the endzone will be deducted from the baseball stadium cost. **
