He was listed as "questionable" and every state fan I talked to this week was wondering if he would play
If we can’t get people to a 2:30 game (perfect for driving up and back for those without hotels) on a weather day like yesterday at 4-2 then that’s just pitiful. No excuse.

Righhht.

“Get more specific.”

Mmmhmmm
Dude. We were 4-2 and playing Oklahoma at home for the first time, and our crowd was pathetic. That’s a very basic problem. Why would you expect any good coaches or good players to come here? You can’t, you simply have to hope to get lucky. Only losers sit around waiting on luck. Not to mention we are wasting gobs of money.

I’m over here catching strays and been off this board for a week.
Time for you to eat your crow too. I gave you props on your 4-0 proclamation. Now Lenny has shown he’s the same coach he always was without his Diego Pavia.

But either way, shaming people you don’t know for buying/not buying tickets and giving/not giving to the AD is pointless and a defensive position because you can’t face the facts. Regardless of all of us individually, the issues at MSU remain the same.

What's the deal on Swann?

Other rumor is Rasheda can't complete a simple screen pass and doesn't know the play book. ????

What say you ? I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

You literally said in your post “Fans: Buy season tickets…”

You can’t even keep up with what you said.
Did I accuse you of that? We all need to be doing that, if possible.

Of course I hope you do. But I’m not basing the validity of your opinion of the situation on that. You are, because you know I’m right.

That's a problem at every school. Why would they come? It's painfully obvious the team isn't going anywhere and that Lebby just doesn't know how to manage a team. There's nothing to be excited about. Fans are naturally deflated and don't want to watch this garbage. Filling up the stands wouldn't and won't change a damn thing.

It actually will. I get it, we aren’t willing to do it.

Of course not. Can you blame them? Nobody wants to come see a train wreck that they know won't get better unless some major changes are made. Fans have no reason to spend their time, energy and money on something they know will more than likely disappoint them. When Lebby, or somebody, starts fielding a team that's exciting to watch and it's obvious the product gives the fans a good chance to witness a victory, THEN fans will start coming.

I just don't understand the mentality of having everything to gain by winning and our players always come out playing like they would rather be somewhere else. Doesn't matter if they are being paid or not, it's the same year after year after year. Is it because of the name on the helmet, the coaches, the administration or the injuns. Wish I knew.

It's been exciting to watch plenty, it's the not winning for almost all the last 10 years that's the killer

First. Go 17yourself…
Second. I’m 100% out on Lebby
Third. I’m always pro state and I’m pro investing into MSU football because that’s what’s going to attract better coaches and better players. You and others took it as shame because deep down you know that’s the current path.
Fourth. Selmon has done a good job so far. The Lebby hire wasn’t great but if you and others actually knew what we had behind the curtain at that time maybe you could also understand the hire. I do feel that ZS will make the right call in 6 weeks or less. As much as I loath Baseball look what he did there. Even some great ADs have made bad football hired
Fifth. When we inevitably make a change we are in a better position with program from investment and NIL.

I appreciate your insight.

I'm sure you did post something on the QBs but I can not remember beyond a few days who post what here. But I wanted to ask again because I figured you know.

As far as Rashada he’s just not been good. I would prob bring him in for some zone read drives just to mix it up and take hits off the other two. But you would also have to let him throw in some and based on what I have been told that’s where the trust issue are.

Oh I agree, I'm not judging. I'm simply saying that's not the way to build a good culture around your program. Facts are facts.

You're better off showing up and booing than you are not showing up, long term.

I really don't care what Selmon is doing behind the scenes as it is not resulting in winning. The way an employee in an organization performs is a direct result of the culture and expectations set by their leadership. Now I 100% understand that you may have employees that don't get on-board, but a good leader will make it clear that either you get on-board or the next guy will. Dan Mullen understood that in order to get the support he needed, so that he gave his team the best chance possible, he had to go out and be a cheerleader for the program. Lebby has made no attempt at this and Selmon apparently has not set that expectation. Would I care if he we had a competitive team; no, but you cannot show you are not doing all you can to build support and and be non-competitive at the same time.

Your problem starts at the top. Kennum has run his course. Needs to head on back to DC. University Presidents get stagnant. He's been here 17 years. The OM folks on the college board are ecstatic with him being here, though
Stephen D. Lee is still our longest serving University President at 19 years. I am certain Keenum wants to make it to 20 years so he can take that title from Lee. Don't be surprised to see him retire after graduation May 2029.

I was one who felt like we should see what Lebby could do in year 3. We’ve now seen and it’s not much better than year 2, so I’m all for moving on.

I left Starkville yesterday feeling the problem is bigger than Lebby though. When we got to Starkville and came through the Cotton District, it did not feel like there was a game today. I’ve been to games against D2 schools that felt more like game day. Inside the stadium, it was a beautiful day for football and the few fans that were there looked like they wanted to get away.

Lebby has done nothing to build fan support. No road dawg tours, no appeal to the Bulldog family, nothing. That can work if you are winning, and did for a few weeks the last two years, but not when you hit adversity.

This is where I want answers from Selmon. He is Lebby’s boss. He should be pushing him to do the things the program needs. He should be seeing the lack of inspiration on this team before we do and he should be evaluating if he is making the right personnel moves. If he is not seeing these things he has to take action.

I’ll end the rant with; what sucks the most for me is watching my children go through their school years and rarely having a competitive team to pull for. My kids are in high school and are were too young to remember the Mullen years. They have seen one decent year with Leech. That is bigger than Jeff Lebby.
For the record, Selmon killed the road dawg tours due to the lack of revenue it brings.
He also quit letting actual football assistants come to the Starkville QB club for that reason

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I never really thought of the road dawg tour as a revenue move. I always thought of it as a way to build support/excitement.
