I agree and have always agreed the Bears ownership is
terrible. This is not even in question. The problem with
complaining about the ownership is it does not matter
they are not going anywhere.
You are answering some of your own questions and making my point here.
This is what the real problem is. To me, you are wasting time blaming only the players and leaving ownership out of it. They are the ones who hire these guys. That is who you really should be ripping. In the end it's what I do.
You can ***** about Cutler all you want. The fact is, he will be gone before you know it and in a couple of years you will be ripping the next QB instead of the owners. I am sure you were also a Grossman hater as well, Jim Miller, Erik Kramer, etc.
But it comes down to ownership. I have said over and over the organization isn't committed to winning. Until they are, this isn't going to change. Since the 80s window closed on this team they haven't been anywhere near what they were for about five or six years. That is almost 30 years ago now.
Ever since Ditka left all they have done is hire these milquetoast coaches and GMs. If you don't know the definition of that word look it up because it describes exactly what these guys have been. Now, they have a chance to hire a coach with more than just a pulse in Jim Harbaugh. You think they will? F**k no! They will continue to hire these clowns. Sure, they may have a decent season or two but no championships for years. We may never live to see another. Look at the makeup of the last championship team and look at them now and ever since those guys left. Even their appearance in the 2007 Super Bowl was more of an accident than anything else.
I have come here several times and asked why they don't hire a head coach with some NFL head coaching experience. Why? They are too damned cheap. This whole thing with Trestman has completely blown up in their face. When they announced him every Bears fan I knew said WHO? Just like some of the others. I think he is the 21st highest paid coach. Surprise, surprise. You throw Ditka out of the picture and the only other coach to have a winning record above .500 is Lovie Smith since Halas himself stopped coaching the team after the 1967 season.
During Ditka's reign, 11 years, the Bears played in 12 post season games going 6-6. Since he left, 22 seasons have passed. The Bears have played in a paltry 9 post season games going 4-5. Wanny was here nine long seasons and took the Bears to only one post season appearance. Jauron was here five more years and the Bears played in ONE post season game and of course lost. Lovie was here nine seasons and the Bears played in six post season games. Half of those came in one season.
Don't look for this situation to get much better with these idiots at the wheel. Players come and go. Again, we'll be right back where we are in just a matter of a couple of seasons and you can blame that future QB.
