One very minor positive.

I had to pause it after the 1st for about an hour. And while fast forwarding through the slower innings I was still able to locate the pitches. Would have preferred to do without it otherwise. I guess it adds to the action for those not use to watching baseball.

Agreed, but I really wish that we had at least had it for replays during our games against the Cajuns so that we could have seen just how egregious some of those called third strikes really were. Not that anyone really needed a box in order to come to that conclusion, though...

Was it just me or was the sound off too? It was like the sound was a split second ahead of the action.

I really noticed it on the comebackers to Vandy's pitcher late in the game - seems like I heard the hit before I saw it.

Seeing as how Kendall Rogers tweeted that Vandy had secured the win about 10-15 seconds before the final out was recorded, I'm pretty confident that the entire feed was delayed.

I hate the strike zone box. Espn trying to reinvent something that doesn't need a fix.

Virtually every live event these days is on a delay. There can be several layers of delay, networks, cable companies, local stations, .

At last year's cws I was listening to Jim Ellis on radio and watching espn when the Oregon State guy hit it to the wall, and Ellis' s call was about 20 seconds ahead of the TV.

You can blame all the delays mainly on the wardrobe malfunction.

What irks me is they show you this thing and then there's no reversal on bad call when the box shows it was either in or out of strike zone and ump calls it incorrectly.
