We all know it's going to be a hard fought game. Bama and State rarely roll over for one another. If we don't play well, we will lose. Here are a few things I think are key tomorrow.
1. Avoid the RAT. Green and Torrance are going to get theirs. Both average about 15, so keep them in the 30-35 range and don't let anyone else get to double figures. Bama's best games this year have been when a third scorer emerges. Likely candidate is Hillman, but Davis and Mitchell can score too.
2. Get to the line more. We both shoot around 70% from the line. We need to get to the line ~10 more times than they do.
3. Don't get killed on second chances. Bama is not great at offensive rebounding, but Green is capable as is Mitchell.
4. Win the battle of threes. Bama is the gang that can't shoot straight, and we need to keep it that way. Around 25% would be nice, while we stay at our regular 40%.
I don't think we have to do all those things to win. Three of four might do it. But if we lose, I bet we lose at least three of these categories.
