1. Do you think he would want the job & 2. Would you be happy with If we hired Ron Zook as the D Cood as it looks like he will be done at Illinois at the end of the season. I'm not sure if I would want him just b/c what we went through in the past having a bunch of former head coaches that didn't last as a HC.

But even if he's out at Illinois, I'm betting he can find another head coaching gig at a lesser school somewhere.

Step down in position. He could probably be a head coach somewhere else. And MSU has caused him too much grief in the past.

he lost a game here as a head coach? He's not going to have a whole lot better options available to him if he's fired this year. Certainly no BCS head coaching jobs. Possibly a mid-major coaching job, but probably not too likely. He'll probably have to take either a low-level I-A job, a I-AA job or a BCS coordinator job.

I'm thinking he'd take a mid-major head coaching job before he'd take a DC job here. I could be wrong.

I was kidding about us causing him grief. But, you never know. Some people hold grudges.

I just don't think it's too likely he'll have that option, although it's possible. Mid-majors don't usually go for failed BCS head coaches.
