D.J. is mad. And twitter is going to be the downfall.

I have the personality where I would have needed a delete function. I am not taking sides because you never know when it is an emotional vent or a real issue. I know people will say look at the trackrecord. And that is a valid argument. But for those of you north of 35 or so, can you imagine being able to broadcast your emotions like this?

It always makes me wonder what the persons true motivation is.

Goes to show you what the star rankings show. Wasn't he a 4 star on rivals? I'd venture to say he's the lone 4 star (injury cases aside) to redshirt. Ever.

The athletic department monitors there Twitter accounts. They need to go ahead and tell him to shut up.

If he is unhappy as he seems then he needs to leave, no matter the reason.

Not sure how many followers he had prior to this thread but I'm pretty sure since Hatfield tweeted at Stricklin, both he and Brackey Brent started following.

In the defense of MSU where does DJ really fit for PT this year? Odds are he's woefully inadequate at ballhandling and defense like most freshmen from the state and he'd have to beat out the Jalen Steele/Dee combo at the 2 guard. Unless we got slammed with injuries he was looking at just riding the pine so why not redshirt.

But this isn't his first crazy twitter craze so I'm going to be very surprised if he's not somewhere else next year.

It's rare, but happens.

No idea how Gardner was a Parade AA either, random.

Honestly, I think it is completely reasonable for him to redshirt and try to improve his skills. Just go watch his highlight video, all the guy does is dribble right past half court and jack up 3s. There is no chance this kid can handle his own on defense. He reminds me of a young Ravern.

he shouldn't be redshirted. If a guy doesn't redshirt with a good attitude he is a detriment anyway.
Coaches can recommend it but it ultimately should be the player's decision. If he wants to play and gets only 1 game worth of playing time for the season that's his choice if he knows he won't get much time going in.
But in reality I really don't understand why you would need to make the decision on who you are going to redshirt in mid-August anyway. That decision really doesn't have to be made until its nearing time to start playing games.

MSU, Auburn, Memphis, Mississippi and UTEP. Yeah, that screams top recruit. If he's not happy, good luck finding a better gig. </p>

The coach said Gardner is simply behind in several areas.

"Most guys, you have to go them. Most of them will fight a redshirt," Stansbury said. "It's probably good he was able to evaluate some things and see he has a ways to go and wanted to redshirt."<span>

He likely would not be in the 8-9 man rotation. He played at Okalona for Pete's sake so he has no idea about the level of competition he will face in college. He is a good player but there is no way he is among the elite in America. That ranking was based purely on his scoring numbers at a school where he was a one man show.

That being said, Stansbury needs to ban his twitter/facebook and give him a warning for now and the next time he so much as loafs on a suicide run he needs to get rid of him.</p>

I think Stans has lost control, and it will be hard to get it back (remember Sherrill at the end). One thing Mullen has done a good job of is developing team leaders. I think Charles Mitchell and Q. Saulsberry would be knocking on a freshman's dorm room door to put a stop to this crap. They would get the young man in line and explain how it's done. We don't have team leadership. The closest we have is Dee Bost, and he has fit right in with the knuckleheads (two suspensions of his own in one 17ing season).

It is the smartest and best thing for D.J. if he'd just shut the 17 up and think! He could develop into a helluva player for us if he will just work hard and do what the coaches ask.

I like the part where one day she says to keep God first. The next day she says if she had a gas can and lighter she would have f***ed that man up!
