When I was growing up, we drove everywhere. No plane rides, no Amtrak. Get in the back of the station wagon and hold on.

When I went through my 'car' phase, as every young boy does (and some never grow out of) I was always on the look for this fine vehicle. The early 80's Lincoln Continental.

My rationalization for finding this car on every excursion was that it had 'everything'. Whitewalls. Check. Headlights that had a cover when they weren't being used. Oh yeah. The little oval thing in the window. Yup. Those gill looking things on the side. Hell yeah, even though I had no idea what they did.

My grandpa eventually had one (in the 90s) and while it wasn't fully equipped, I was somehow able to mask my disappointment.

I saw this bad boy in the parking lot at WalMart yesterday and its awesomeness took my breath away. From the Christmas tree air freshener to the low-riding back end (the pic doesn't show it but the bumper was only 6 inches off the ground), this thing reeks of cool -- with the crowning jewel, of course, being the Raiders logo on the front quarter panel.

The only other thing it needs is a Craig Power Play 8-track deck and it'd be perfect.
That pic reminds me of The Duke's ride. Do you remember The Duke (Isaac Hayes) from "Escape From NY" and his badazz ride?

All that's missing is a couple of chandeliers perched on the front hood.

There is a D-league thread on RR that we need to blow up. The OP is about proposed changes to the NBA D-League. But mav and I have taken a stance of defiance as if it is a direct threat to the very existence of the Paddock's D-League.

Not going to Nashville. Took the family to the Ky-Louisv. game. Lots of people going from around here are going though. My four kids are bugging me to stay home Friday from school to watch the game. What am I going to tell them, no? Geezzz, I don't have the heart. My 11 yr old has been sitting beside me during the game. It takes guts to be near me during a game. Some of you, better, most of you know what I mean. FCC.

Man I'm tempted. No reason for me not to really seeing as it's just 2 hours away -- other than I'm married to an iron-fisted, ball-busting shrew THAT I LOVE WITH ALL MY HEART DAMMIT.

Got my daily chuckle on the Ferguson thread. Grew up during the end of segregation and I swear some of those guys miss Jim Crow...but they all have black friends so it's OK.

Be strong, Mav.

I wish I understood people, Ghost. I don't get it.

Ya know, we're probably not that far away from electing dogs to public office. World would be a much much better place. How awesome would that be. Then we put Field Goat in office.

I see Blue Rupp's post didn't make it in. Hope his girl troubles have gotten better.

Blue Rupp, if you want some help with that, let me know. I can be of some guidance for ya on your issue. From your post on it, I have already seen some potential red flags.

Let me know bro.

I don't know why my posts aren't coming through.

Willy, things have kind of calmed down. She didn't see him(which I believe her because she's down there with her family and they know how I feel about it). I Keep telling her that the other guy is probably faking depression and she said that could be a possibility. Anyways she says she can't wait to see me. Hope that means what I think it means.

How goes the D-League?

Mav - I'm glad you liked the post in the spider thread.

Willy - I'm shocked that you had to read it twice.

BlueRupp - good luck with the relationship stuff. I've got no advice for you. Just not my area.

So I'm flipping through the channels at 4:25 this morning cause, as has been well documented, I have episodic insomnia, and I notice Xfinity has rated "Desperately Seeking Susan" as a 3-star (out of 4) movie.

WTF is that all about? Now I don't pay any attention to ratings but this pissed me off. 90% of movies are 2-stars, so it's exceedingly rare that one gets a 3 -- and they're telling me that that Madonna POS has the goods? Granted, I'm mostly pissed cause I can't sleep (still haven't tried the bell or gong Willy
) but just knowing someone gives DSS 3 stars sure as hell doesn't help.

93- hahaha, dude, it was brilliant. Caught me off guard. hahaha

Brupp (I like this one from Mav)- Sounds good. Just be careful bro. Anytime I hear of a 20+ yr old girl still taking vacations with her parents, I get an overwhelming sense of "dependent personality" type.

Man I opened that "graphic design" thread thinking I was prepared for what was about to go down, but y'all blew my expectations out of the water. Willy set it up nicely with the gimp mask and children's b-day offer, and then Funk Man came with the 69 Tampax car and I about died. Quality work, D Dudes.

That's the kind of church I wouldn't mind going to with a buzz. My church was like a funeral every.damn.week. That church is hip and alive. Bless them.

Patrick Bateman FTW, good call. I just watched this a couple weeks ago too; disappointed in myself for not thinking of him.
