Morning D-Leaguers.

Woke up this morning to a text from a member of the coed softball team I play with telling me that the man who runs the team with his son passed away yesterday at 52. No details and we were not aware of any medical issues. That does not mean there weren't any because some people don't let those things out, but he was in good shape as far as we could tell. He was a good man, nice as anyone I know. He is pictured just below me to my left at a recent Halloween Party. I am the Viking standing on a cooler. His wife is lady liberty just in front of him. He is also retired military.

Good morning folks. Gray, bitter cold and a freezing rain coating things with ice in the east.

Big day for the Cats. A win rights a season on the brink. A loss, and this team will really be in a hole with a brutal schedule upcoming. Wish I felt more confident.

Warrior, sorry to hear of your comrades’s sudden passing. That’s way too young.

I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning everyone

Here in the SE KY mountains it's just rain and 39 degrees. I've got plenty of little projects today to catch up on. Thanksgiving and having some of the kids over has put me behind a bit.

UK vs NC tonight will hopefully be a good one. I have disliked NC since back in the mid 70's when I first started as a UK fan. The 4 corner stalling stuff has stuck with me for 50 years.

I have never been invested in the UK football program like Bball, but still a fan. Hopefully young Will Stien (Edit: Stein- might as well learn to spell his name correctly) ....can get our team over the hump.

Go Big Blue!

Good morning from Anneta, KY on Nolin Lake, Currently 25°F and cloudy.

Huge disappointment last night. No FG during last 8 minutes doomed our Cats. Hope Will Stein works out.

Ate at Huddle House in Leitchfield yesterday. Good omelette, biscuit, grits. Gals work hard there.

Plan on hiking up to top of ridge here in a few. Not used to this cold. Gonna bundle up. Stay tuned.

Y'all have a great day.

Good morning from Anneta, KY on Nolin Lake. Currently 30°F and cloudy. We may briefly get above freezing today.

Went to a couple indoor flea markets in Leitchfield yesterday. Interesting.

Cuz expecting delivery of a new stove today. I need to move rental car so delivery truck can pull up next to house. We watched re-runs of "Justified" last night.

Lots of family stuff happening down in FL. Fill y'all in later. Y'all behave.

Ashland has a few flurries today with a high of 35. Calendar says winter doesn’t arrive for over 2 weeks but it looks like Ky is getting it early. Going to Kroger Field tomorrow for the Class A State Finals. Grandson plays for Raceland. 4th straight year they have made it to the finals, all without a title. Hopefully, they can be the bride this year, instead of the bridesmaid. Everyone stay warm.

I hate Duke and coach K, but here is a story I thought interesting. K played for Bobby Knight at Army. K tells of the most important lesson he learned from Knight. When at Army while K was there, Knight ran a specific drill every practice without fail. Later when K got a high school coaching job, he thought if that drill was that important to Knight, that it was important to him. He ran the drill every day in his practices.

K got a job as an asst coach for Knight at IU. He was shocked the first day of practice when Knight failed to run the drill. Two weeks later and still no drill, K worked up the nerve to ask Knight about it. Knight said, "Michael, you were no Quinn Buckner." The lesson K learned was that you must adapt to the skills of your players.

Perhaps the injuries for UK (particularly Lowe) have thrown Pope's adaptations askew? I hope so, and with the return of players ((including JQ), things may get better.

Good morning folks. Cold and gloomy in the east, matching my feelings about the Kentucky basketball program. Ah well, life goes on.

Finishing up my work week, then heading for the rural end of Campbell County to see my family and help out with dad's care. I expect to del with snow and icy roads through the West Virginia passes and on into Kentucky.

I hope you all are painlessly easing into the Christmas season.
