D1 is breaking down the top 25 teams as I type this, So far, they are through #4, so Coastal will come up soon. I'll be interested to see what they have to say that justifies the high ranking.

They have one of the best arms in the country, they’re coached really well, develop guys at an elite level and they’re coming off a national championship appearance. Not to mention they didn’t lose a ton off last years team.

Flukey is back, as is the closer Lynch, but they lost the other 2/3 of their weekend starters, plus 4 of the 9 batters who played the most for them.

I realize Baseball America isn't the ultimate draft authority, but Flukey is their only player ranked in the top 100 for the 2026 or 2027 draft. Meanwhile, we have 5 this year and 2 more for next year.

Don't get me wrong, CC has a very good team. I just don't get having them ranked 5 spots higher than us. Granted, I saw plenty from our new guys in the fall, and admittedly nothing from the new Coastal guys.

Nice post
I certainly admire Coastal's accomplishments and am glad that we play them every year So much nice mid week competition near here We are lucky in that regard

Carbone and Lynch are 2 of the best back of BP arms in the country, Darin Horn is also a really good lefty. Barthol is back as is Thorndyke, the OF will be good with Mihos and Pado back. They’re going to be pretty good. Nothing against Carolina, not trying to say they are better.

Not only just their campus, but where it is located just a hop skip or jump from Myrtle Beach. My daughter went there and absolutely loved it.

I moved to NMB and adopted Coastal as my second favorite team after UNC. If you haven’t been there, especially for baseball, their baseball team is no joke. Bought season tix this year and their games are electric. Great fan support. They’re gonna be good this year.
