I'm sure Dabo wants Shane in Columbia for a long time.
Who didn't know that was coming.

Dabo doesn't give a crap who's coach at South Carolina; they take care of business on their end and they have a clear path to the playoffs every season regardless.

I wondered what fans think of their bromance. I don't think it's fair to say Dabo hopes Beamer stays forever b/c he is 2-3 against Dabo, winning both games in Death Valley and knocking them out of CFP contention in 2022. Until Beamer came along, we'd become an automatic W for Clemson.

Would we rather have two coaches who embodied the hostile spirit of the rivalry, or do fans like the friendly nature the two have brought to the table? Have we ever had coaches who openly disliked each other?

Word is Muschamp and Dabo weren't friendly!

For all practical purposes, 2011-2013 may as well have never happened. They are fond memories, but that's it.
To us older folks, 2011-2013 seems like recent history. The reality is, today's HS seniors have no memory at all of those years of SC football. Today's 18 year olds were 6 in the 2013 season. Unless they lived in a gamecock household, they were not even aware of the "glory days".

Yeah, I mean, I very clearly remember those years as I was in late 30s at the time. But for practical purposes, they might as well have never happened. Those years don't do us any good. It's nothing you can use to recruit or raise money or anything. At the most, you could maybe point to those years to show that winning is possible here. But, yeah, from the practical side, 2011-2013 might as well be the 1950s to a kid you're recruiting now.
