Older people also say " Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining"
I gotta say, if they can piss down my back, then ...

Now if they just piss on my leg, we gotta problem.

You guys (not all of you) are making a lot of (insulting) assumptions about their marriage and their character, all while asking "well, why didn't these women go to the police?"

You're proving exactly why. This woman said put her name behind an accusation and many of you have spent the last month impugning her character, dragging up old social media posts, calling her crazy, implying that they will get divorced, etc....

This is what happens in these cases. Every corner of their lives is subjected to intense, often bad faith, scrutiny in an attempt to discredit them. It's not worth it to a lot of women to go through that.

The initial response on here was actually really refreshing in the empathy many showed towards the alleged victims and SA survivors in general. It's disappointing that the mob has taken over.
Agreed. It’s been too much and has gone too far.

Just my .02 on Cael. His failure to report is truly unforgiveable and PSU has no choice but to let him go.

I respect Cael as a coach and a person. I believe this was an unfortunate mistake and that he's capable of reforming if he lands in the right place. I believe, with all my heart, that place is Iowa City, Iowa.
Edit: okay; I didn’t get it the first time.

This board desperately needs a delete option.

I'm still finding it humorous that some people have to keep posting and reiterating their opinions and / or different views of speculation. Guess we didn't read their 'first' responses o_O well enough.
Then I get to read everyone's hindsight views and judgment forgetting that they too are far from perfect.
Then I get to read some really lighthearted comments, which keeps me coming back - to those folks I say Thank you!

I think I answered my question above. To quote an individual post, from say, 247, do the following: in the lower right corner of an individual post are three horizontal dots. Click on that and then lick "Permalink", which will copy the post. Then in the body of your new post here at On3, etc., just paste the copied post. I just use Control V, but I'm sure you can also use the "Insert link" option above.

Yeah, and that's a moral failure of the jury and judge, not her.

Don't judge a book by its cover. We're supposed to know that's wrong and yet, you're using it as your main justification.

You are naive if you don’t think a jury will evaluate her judgment and character together with the veracity of her testimony. That’s not a moral failure. That’s the consequences of choosing to present yourself a certain way.

Beat me to it, yes!

But when I:

Maybe your test was performing those acts on a different comment, but either way we've learned that 247 does indeed have a function by which any internetter can make any post here, about any post there, much more useful to readers here. Nice teaming up with you again my San Diegan friend!

What could possibly go wrong there?

anyone who makes an accusation as serious as this needs to come forward otherwise it is suspect bot sure why you cant understand this. You are looking strictly at the assumptions and nothing that surrounds them which leads you nowhere

That statement is sled dog dumb. Just stop with your iowa ******** and go away you cannot be that stupid can you?
I think you're under the illusion that just because you can see her public persona on social media, that means you actually know her. A common mistake older people make in the era of the internet.
So she is putting it out there aho she is right? She wants to be known for what she is saying snd showing. Now here you are saying that doesnt apply. You are being disengenius you are an even bigger joke than ironturd and turk. Lmfao

I am actually surprised the Collegian hasn't investigated more, and published a followup article, patching some of the significant holes in the original story. There are so many questions.

That said given the little we know, there is virtually no significant action that can be taken against anyone, except Carter, and at that, a conversation stating it's time to move on. It's seems that has happened, and is probably best for all.

1). The rape claims are simply hearsay until the victim(s) officially come forward. I seriously doubt Cael was made aware, but if so, and Carter said it was consensual, what action could be taken? None. This is a legal matter external to the program, and apparently not even that to date.

2). Oil checks and nut grabs, gross and an Ahole move. Most athletics teams have at least one Ahole. If Cael were aware, this offense rises to the level of talking Carter, instructing him to 'cut this crap out, you need to be a leader and set the example' and little more. If it continued, assign a 10 mile run, or bench him for a match. Suspention or kick off the team? Are you kidding me?

3). The locker room theft. Strong circumstantial evidence, but what can you do with that? Suspend both players until one rats out the other? Could there have been a 3rd unseen person in the facility? Pointing Beau to the police is the proper recommendation. Cael is a coach, neither a detective nor a interrogator. The circumstances resulted in bad luck for Beau, but life ain't fair. In my life my car has been hit in parking lots 3 times with no note, 2 car break ins, sterios stolen, 1 expensive mountain bike stolen from my garage, and in the end it all came out of my pocket. Thieves are Aholes and a drag on society. Carter might, maybe even probably, did it, but then again maybe not.

4). The naked Snapchat pictures. This one really bothers me, granted every time I have been in a men's locker room as a part of a team in highschool and college (wrestling, football and baseball), there are gross insults, dick jokes (especially for the 'small' guy whoever that happens to be), towel snaps. We had one big fat lineman who used to stick his finger in his own crack then sneak up behind people and swipe the finger on team mate's upper lip, while yelling "butt butter". Not funny when it happened to you, but everyone else laughed, everytime. Given the alleged pictures by design dissapear seconds after sending, I still don't like this one, and it may prove illegal, but I am on the fence the corrective action. That said every locker room is a jungle, populated with some Aholes. Again the most I would expect from Cael is a strong ' cut that garbage out'. This one might have been a one time thing.

II also don't buy any take that has Cael itching to respond to a poorly written Collegian piece and some social media chatter. Cael is very private and of unquestioned character. If the story had made the New York times, or broadcast on ESPN, and called out Cael specifically, then maybe, but for where things are now? I don't buy it.

In short I would say given all that we know much of this kind of thing (excl rape) happens in any 35 member population of testosterone-filled young men but more importantly not excusing it, what is Cael's level of responsibility or culpability? Nothing I have read, raises this to the level of him being suspended or having to quit or anything of that nature, unless there is so much more under the surface that we're not seeing. It would be not only a travesty if this came down on Cael, but it would be the winning lottery ticket for whatever team picked him up within the first 30 days of him leaving.

In closing - if Kraft either pushed Cael out, or let him leave, for this!!! I will be a founding member of the fire Kraft's stupid-*** now club. A blunder of epoc proportions, and a career killer. Do you know who really needs Cael Sanderson IMO? Forget about Iowa, it's Ohio State, that's F$#@ing who, and I think they would grab him.

So, enough of the BS, it's time to move on.

I didn't say she was a direct victim, but she put her name and reputation on the line and has been subject to considerable harassment.

In regards to her social media activity, Zoomers have much different sensibilities about that stuff. There's a generational difference there. Not liking it is totally reasonable, but nothing I've seen posted here discredits her. It's fairly normal for her age group to post like that. That post has 30k likes. We're not the intended audience. She's a pretty run of the mill Zoomer tik-toker.

"Zoomers have much different sensibilities about that stuff."

Oh horse excrement. The absence of restraint isn't "different sensibilities".

"but nothing I've seen posted here discredits her. "

That's says as much about you as it does her.

I'm trying to imagine somebody mounting a defense of Carter: "Zoomers have much different sensibilities about that stuff."

Even if every single accusation is true...

She's an attention *****.

VERY well written and I agree with most of what you've written here. The only part I disagree with is you questioning Cael wanting to immediately respond and defend himself. That part came from brantt from 247, and that guy has a perfect hit rate on his reports, and he definitely is a true insider.

Js by your account then gable should have been fired for bringing in the brands and the brands should have never wrestled or coached. Seeing as they were part of a rape case many yrs ago.

JS was making a joke—hoping Cael would get fired so he would be available to replace Tom & Terry.
