Good article Rick. Always enjoy your stuff.

I know it was done fast and you guys can be perfectionists. So FYI, typo here:

The ball bounced into the end zone and into straight up into the arms of State’s Jamerson Love.

Great as always, Rick.

I thought Williams really did a nice job under the circumstances. He never made a big mistake to lose it. He was like the crafty pitcher who kept us in the game with a lot of off-speed stuff and ground ball outs until the clean-up hitter/closer (Dak) could come in to win it late. And, the D was lights out - especially against the speed sweeps and screens and underneath stuff Ole Miss was trying to run.

What a game... What a finish! Hail State!

Game ball goes to Damien Williams.

For a guy in his first start under that spotlight. Extremely nice performance , especially if we don't have three key drops. He is a baller.

Obviously I don't read the unbiased crap you write about Ole Miss, but I enjoy your stuff as one of if not the only unbiased writer in Mississippi. You truly seem to be a "Mississippi first" guy...

One day you'll learn.

Keep them coming. Get back at me when I get my first job and have some income to give to the HOF, for the MSU display of course.

Its great Rick the way you are embraced on here now as "unbiased" and people "love" your columns, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't have told your mama the names you were called by State fans and Black Shark Rebel Fin Up Land Bear fans alike when it came to your writing

You know, in 40+ years of writing columns, I learned that when teams were winning, I was popular; when they were losing, I wasn't. No "fan" likes to read about losing. Last night, tweeting, I was getting criticized by fans of both schools for favoring the other. As i told one particularly rabid fan, if I was any more neutral, I would be Switzerland. The truth is, and always has been, I pull for all the Mississippi schools, including those in the SWAC.

You may be talking about Zach Jackson. They saw a someone on the bench with a jacket on covered in face paint and said it was Williams when it wasn't. There's two 14s, one is Zach Jackson. It could have been him but it looked like 44, turtle holmes.

That's exactly what 12 out of 12 buzzard fans would say. I pull for Mississippi, because that way you get to feel what a win is like every once in a while.

He did a great job. The pressure on him was intense, and he came through in fine fashion. He played like he'd been doing it for years, not like a freshman. Got a pretty good arm too. We're set for quite some time at QB.
