Dak needs to come back his SR year no doubt about it.

He's got the arm talent and he's gotten so much better from year to year and he'll improve dramatically going into next year for sure, but he still has some trouble with the deep ball and needs some work on his accuracy. Consistently being accurate is what he's lacking. I think he'll be a 1st round pick after his SR year and this year he goes in like the 5th or 6th round. We'd be set up next year with Dak and LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss at home. Could be another great year.

He's turned into a good passer, but he still needs to work some more on his footwork. He throws too many balls off his back foot. Also, while he does a good job of working through his progressions to find the 3rd or 4th receiver on some plays, on others he just throws a hopeful ball up there to his first receiver. It just all depends on where he's projected in the draft though. He could work on those things just as easily in the NFL as he could at MSU this offseason and next fall. Like Goat says, if he projects in the 1st round, he's got to go.

I love you "he needs to come back one more year" folks. Right now, he's the best College football player in the country and he's singlehandedly turned Mississippi State from a mid-level SEC program to a National Championship contender.

He has the arm strength, the running ability, and he's got what NFL scouts covet most- a single-minded desire to will his team to victory. After State wins the National Championship and Dak wins his Heisman, I hope he sends about 10% of his Multimillion dollar contract back to MSU to bowl in all of DWS.

If anything, he needs to go pro just to learn how to take snaps under Center. Tim Tebow had the same problem, and he never adjusted.

This year's QB class is pretty thick if Marriota, Jameis, and Hundley leave. Next year would probably be a little less competition.

Yes he's one of the best college players in the country right now but I just don't think he gets a 1st or 2nd round grade unless he puts on a passing clinic on Bama and UM. Right now, he's got excellent arm strength, pocket presence, and mobility. But, he has accuracy issues and a lot of his value at the college level is his ability to cut up the middle and run down the interior of defenses... This is something that will not happen much in the NFL if he wants to stay healthy. I know he could get hurt if he came back but I think he could stand to make a lot more money by tightening his game up and becoming a 1st rounder. He could also work on using his mobility to extend passing plays rather than taking off and running. And btw, Tebow didn't make it because he had an extremely slow and awkward throwing motion... Something that's really hard to fix compared to teaching a player how to take snaps under center.

Definitely agree with all of that.

Is that Blue Ridge as in Blue Ridge, GA?

I think we'll see a sharp Dak this Saturday. He plays best under pressure and he'll have plenty of that in Tuscaloosa.

Can't tell a kid to pass up the cash if he is first rounder. Blaine Gabbert at Missouri left after his junior year because he was told he was a can't miss. The NFL had him vastly over rated because he was built like Hercules and a work out warrior, but he never did make THE play when his team needed it the most. But getting drafted at Jacksonville means he and his kids and probably grandkids won't have to work a day in their lives if they handle the money right

The NFL gets it wrong a lot on QB's. But if Prescott is a first rounder I'm sure Mullinez would tell him to go.

There is no such thing as a "can't miss" QB going from college to the NFL. Even 1st round picks are busts half the time. Either NFL scouts are idiots or it's virtually impossible to project a QB from college to the NFL.

After the LSU and A&M games I was pretty sure he would have a great chance to go after this year but even starting with the Auburn game through now he has not had the pocket presence and accuracy that would make him a big target for NFL teams. I think Dak has a little more pro potential than Tebow but Dak's game is still built WAY better for college ball than pro ball. Dak is a GREAT college QB but I'm not sure he will ever even be a regular starter in the NFL because of the tight windows you have to throw to and the punishment they deal out on QBs that run. Just my opinion though, we will have to see what grade the NFL scouts give him.
