Let's assume that Russell doesn't play against Alcorn on Saturday. There just doesn't appear to be a need for that with his potential concussion-type problems.

Prescott would obviously start, but it's Alcorn, so I would think we'd be able to pull our starters by halftime or at least shortly after.

Do you let Williams get some mop-up duty at QB?

Think about next year. If Williams redshirts, we will have Prescott and 3 freshmen backup QB's with obviously zero experience. If Dak were to get hurt, we could be in serious trouble.

I think playing him is an idea worth entertaining.

May depend on how serious they think Russell's injury is - but I think it's smart to play him. If Dak had gotten banged up, even enough to miss one play Saturday, he would have gone in. You don't want his first snaps to be in a similar situation against Auburn.

Plus, about half of QBs transfer anyway. It'd be a waste if we redshirted him only to see him transfer in 1-2 years.

Agree, play him. Getting some playing time might keep these guys from entertaining the thought of transferring.
