Damn. I didn't realize Relf had 500 yards rushing this year...

that's missing two games and hardly playing at all mid-season. It'll be interesting to see what kind of snaps he gets this fall.

I don't think he will light it up with his passing game. I do think he will have huge numbers rushing this year, because we lack a veteran back returning. My prediction is 2nd or 3rd team all SEC, because of the rushing yards he will put up. I don't think we will see TR as much as most people think.

you can't coach Relf's size and atheltic ability, he also has something TR doesn't in the way of exerpience.

It depends on what you're expecting. If you want Relf to drop back, read a zone coverage and throw on time, then you'll be disappointed. However, if he can throw a screen and chuck it 50 yards on occasion, then he'll keep the defense honest and we'll move the football.

Dylan better just transfer, cause Mullen ain't passing or running no offense with a passing first QB.

Russell better get his *** in class and his head in the playbook... He needs to look damn good in the spring...
He better have great scrimmages and spring game

I agree. I was more than impressed with him running the ball in the option. He needs to develop his reads and touch on the ball this spring. Its too easy for a defense to think he is keeping the ball every time. I think if you went back and looked at his stats in the option, he kept it probably 80% of the time. At least that is what it seemed like watching him play.

seemed that way, he ran wild on the hapless rebs. Of course, it also seemed that just when Relf had momentum built, mini-lee would be inserted quickly to see if he could stop the drive.

He had a big run vs AU and a good day vs Arkansas. I would say those 3 games were around 300 yrds.

I just don't see it. He's too one dimensional. Team's will scheme to stop the option.

am a Chris Relf fan. Late in the year, he was running the option about as well as you could hope for, and I think he will get better as a player. I bet Mullen can coach him to throw a few screens and maybe make him a more accurate passer- he still has two years to get this QB stuff down.

Watching someone like Zac Robinson attempt to run the option gave me even more of an appreciation of how well Relf did late in the year.

Relf would probably be the perfect guy for Georgia Tech. He is big, can run, runs the option well, and can throw deep. I'm glad he's with us, though.

But I think it will be apparent to SEC DCs next year how to scheme against Relf, if he ends up behind center for you.

As a baseball man, you know how that works. Once a pitcher knows a batters strengths, he attacks his weaknesses. Relf has both strengths and weaknesses. Now if he develops as a passer, watch out.

Seeing as both QBs will see significant playing time most likely, Russell will be used to balance out Relf's weaknesses and vice versa.
