Diamond Dog reliever Luke Dotson to enter transfer portal

The college baseball transfer portal officially opened on Monday and it has been a steady flow of entrees for Mississippi State. With the coaching change on hand, that was expected and the trend continued on Wednesday evening.
Mississippi State sophomore left-handed pitcher Luke Dotson is the latest Diamond Dog to enter the transfer portal, as reported on Wednesday. He is the sixth Diamond Dog to enter the transfer portal thus far and the second State pitcher to do so, joining right-handed reliever Gavin Black.
Dotson, a Marietta, Ga., native, became a solid piece for State’s bullpen in the latter stages of the 2025 campaign. This past season Dotson was 1-2 with two saves and posted a 3.09 earned run average. Dotson made 18 appearances and struck out 34 and walked 12 in 23.1 innings of work. Opponents hit .214 against Dotson this season.
