Damn, Illinois is going down the list of hot coaching candidates. After Groce now.....

I hope our great search committee has already talked to him and let him know that he is a man we are interested in. And which way is better? The public way Illinois is going about looking for a new coach or the hush hush way we are? Is the Illinois job that much better a job than ours? I don't see why it would be besides living in Champaign, IL instead of Starkville. They really haven't done anything in the NCAA for a while now either. I don't know what their roster looks like or what kind of class they have committed for next season, but can't be that much better than what we have returning and coming in.

If all things play out as expected, Wendell Lewis will be out starting Center, backed up by Gavin Ware (Tr Fr) and Roquez Johnson (Soph with a looooong way to go). We don't even have a point guard on the team right now. Deville is gone, and if we're lucky (and Josh Gray re-commits), we'll be starting a true freshman. So we'll be inexperienced at PG, and inexperienced and lacking in talent down low.

2. Illinois is definitely a better job than MSU. Probably a lot better.

They only have one senior and one junior, Paul Brandon, who could appear to try to entertain the NBA. They will have a very young team next season and appear to have depth at every position. So, looking at our current rosters won't help us get a coach to choose us over Illinois. I don't know a single thing about any of their players but at least they have players
