He offered one most every day that had provoking comments or articles. At or near the bottom, we could comment on his offerings. I haven't seen that in the new system, and if it is there, I am missing it with the new format.

Me too. I have been posting on the main board for a long time and as soon as they switch format I don't have privilege to post there now. I guess it went from a free board to a pay board after the switch. I find myself coming here a lot less now.

The main board has been premium but the college soundoff board is free: https://forums.rivals.com/forums/college-football-soundoff.20/

As for the format you two are the first I've seen complain on this site and traffic is at an all-time high. Number of threads, posts and views are way up. The Blue lot guys have made the most of it and have a great time each day sharing more pictures, videos, etc. I couldn't be happier with the transition.

The system or format have nothing to do with that, it's up to him if he wants to post the articles. If anything it's much easier for him to post links now.

Yup, it's a time thing on my end. My wife retired from teaching, and we've been traveling. In fact, just back from a fabulous visit to Cuba. Who says Americans aren't free to travel?

Tells a travel agency owner about his many trips that he didn't book with said travel agent.

Oops. Is this what you'd call a faux pas (or as we would say in Possum Trot, a "fox pause")?

We're considering a New Zealand/Australian/Tasmanian exploration, possibly next winter, and I'll email you when we get serious about dates and itineraries.

Seriously if I can help I would be glad to do so. How as Cuba? I'm seriously thinking about doing that trip myself.

Cuba was fun. It was a three-hour direct flight from Windsor to Santa Clara, and we booked a week at an all-inclusive at Cayo Santa Maria for not quite $1,000 each (airfare, ground transportation, resort).

The resort (Starfish) is owned by the Cuban military, as are most of the resorts on the island. It is separated from the mainland by a 30-mile causeway that is only 15 years old, so everything on the island is relatively new. They're building like crazy, too, but Cuba is not close to being ready for a million spring breakers.

We met a few Europeans and South Americans, but the majority of guests were Canadians. We did not meet any fellow Americans, but of course our federal government in its wisdom still restricts our freedom to travel if the purpose is vacationing.

I am a journalist (mostly retired) and did a piece on Remedios, a Cuban town that is observing its 500th anniversary this year. Remedios and Ann Arbor are sister cities, so it was a natural for a Michigan publication. And my wife went with a tentative deal from AARP the Magazine, so the First Amendment shielded us.

That said, U.S. Customs and Border Protection gave us no problems at all. The agent at the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Windsor wanted to know what we were bringing back from Cuba, and if we had bought anything in Canada, then welcomed us home and sent on us our way.

Sooner or later, Congress will wake up and drown Cuba in capitalism. The amusing irony is that the fiercest critics of the freedom to travel -- Cuban-Americans -- are free to visit the island without restriction. It is only their fellow countrymen who cannot be trusted with the same liberty.

Great info. I have three vendors that can now offer Cuba but I haven't sold a trip there yet. I have a quote out right now so that could be my first. Right now those vendors have to get a special permit from our government annually but next year it's expected to ease and anyone will be able to visit Cuba.

Appreciate the details.

I think the new board looks great, but the topic view is very inefficient for me, personally. I'm glad most see the new format as a substantial improvement, but I'm coming here less and going to other sites more.

Well at least I know you're not going to other WVU sites more considering there isn't one that had thread view. No offense to you guys but it's odd to me that the free users are the only ones complaining.

No need to be so defensive Vernon. You can't please everyone. I don't go to other discussion boards, I just look to other sources for WVU news and don't post links like I used to.

It's amazing to me that some are complaining about the new boards lol. This is the best thing to happen to this board in a long time. Unreal!

I also appreciate Vernon's feedback when some are complaining, and don't think he's defensive at all.

I understand that for some there's a learning curve..... But those people really do need to realize that it's just that .... nothing more.

This latest update by rivals is truly cutting edge for forums. ....add the fact that it has been almost seamless. I suggest people having issues just give it time or they're pretty much done posting on forums for ever because this is the typical format For forums worldwide?

-------------

Before anybody suggest I am an *** kisser, they should know that I was very clear about my opinion regarding the previous formuls being archaic.

Since I was the OP of the thread, and this is my only source of WVU sight, I am not sure you should be so quick to Id us as "free users". I am proudly a BL member since I found the sight. Appreciate it in total, but as I said when you broke the news or the update, it took me 5 years to work the old system and I am not sure I have another 5 to give.
