for their opening series. And that $40 million park is the ****. SEC baseball has definitely elevated. Time to upgrade the dude dudes.

yesterday, the rebels had over 15,000 for the Friday and Saturday games. I call BS.

Yes, thanks to the titty dogs, I listened to some of the Ole Miss game during a 3 hour drive yesterday.

The Sunday announced crowd wasn't close to actual attendance. The other two days might have been close to the 7000+ announced each day. I know for sure we had more people at our baseball game Saturday against ULM than we did at the basketball game against Florida that morning.

Having a home basketball game, and the warm weather really helped their turnout. The right field area seemed to be jammed packed on Friday.

I forgot their hoops game was at home, and that definitely helps.Even with the 2,000 people that probably brought in, 7,000+ opening weekend vs. La-Monroe is impressive.

needs the more immediate attention, I think. Those bleachers are aweful. Plus the port-o-johns are still in the OF. I don't think the demand for the bowl is there...yet.

Columbia metro area has around 900K people. Starkville 20k or so. I say we do a better job at getting people out to see sports in starkville.

their stadium looks like Trustmark Park.

I for one, would have no problem building a completely new stadium. Just tear down the old one and start over and make a really nice new one. I wouldn't mind it if it was in a different location either. The biggest prerequisite would be to keep the LFL.

I also think that by building a new stadium, we could maybe do away with those "lifetime seat contracts" that are a huge albatross. I don't know all of the legal ramifications and such, but if you tear down someone's seat, I would think that it would be pretty obvious that you couldn't sit there.

And I know that the woman who designed Camden Yards in Baltimore is a MSU grad. So, we have some connections there.

I would say renovate Dudy-Noble. I think that Byrne will renovate Scott Field first, though.

Dudy-Noble needs more immediate attention for sure.

Let's be honest, if we knew how good we were going to look this weekend, I have to believe that more people would show up. I think people were/are waiting for Cohen to turn the program around and then show up, but I think a good showing last weekend against a fairly quality opponent has people excited again.

If the weather is good next week, I think that we will draw better than this week for sure.

I flipped over and watched about two minutes of the basketball game against Florida. There looked to be about 3-4k there. They announced over 7k. I know its dark and you can't see shitin there, but what I could see was about 70% empty down low.

what else better do people have to do on a beautiful February weekend in the Golden Triangle than check out the Diamond Dogs on opening weekend? Especially with SO many new faces on the roster and a talented bunch of newcomers. Hate to see that interest in MSU baseball is not what it used to be. I know if I didn't live hours away I would have gotten out to at least one of the games with the nice weather we had. There are a lot more folks in the greater Columbia area but there is also likely more to do there than what's available in Starkville or Columbus.

When everyone talks MSU football it always turns to a negative about our lack of a "big school" stadium. We have to keep up in that regard by closing in the north endzone and other improvements. Recruiting will only improve with that too. MSU led the way way, not only in the SEC but also on the national level, with our baseball facilities. That is something we should continue to improve on in the future but, DWS needs help right now.

I'd love to see us have something like that, except preserving the LFL atmosphere that we have now. Certainly, that's possible.

Once thing I noticed. Look at the baseball club level scan. I spy a couple of beer taps. I know drinking in accepted in the club level sections of SEC facilities, but I didn't know anyone could go so far as to install a few taps in the wall. How does that happen?

Columbia is probably trying to land a minor league baseball team there or use the stadium for other things like concerts.

I tend to forget that Columbia is actually a pretty large city with needs outside of just the University.

Does South Carolina still require that liquor only be sold at restaurants/bars in airplane bottles? Maybe they should line the back wall with those. That'd be a real classy touch/

I have sampled some beer on tap at a USM game in one of their boxes. Where there is a will there is a way and if you pay enough you can do what you want.
