Wrong! The program hasn't been elite for years. It was in the dumps 2004, 2007 and again this year with a downward trajectory until we make a commitment to get an elite level coach.

You're delusional.... check 408's record in 7 years against ranked opponents, it's abysmal. Callahan and Solich (with his own recruits), weren't any better. The program has been sad for years.
He should be pissed/disappointed. Anyone here who isn't doesn't understand how far we've veered off course. Our HC is largely disengaged. The OC and DC are incompetent. All of this talk about playing to our strengths. Crap! The DB coach is lost at sea. We play the man, not the ball...ever. That face guarding ******** is just asking for PI calls. The OL coach forgot that competion breeds success. I never see OL finishing plays. Why should they, their job is in stone. No subs. No one plays with passion, for each other, for the coaches, for the fans. They look like they fall asleep every game.

Damon has the right to be pissed, and have his opinion. It is clouded because Riley didn't give him a job. It is telling who he decided to surround himself with since the change. Damn backed down when Bo put pressure on him. Now that Osborne is gone, he will continue to be jaded with no repercussions.
Bo had 7 years and couldn't make Nebraska a top 25 program. Riley's issues are a separate deal.

Why would anyone even care what Benning says? A high school level coach with a microphone that's all he is and at that he was terrible at NW. Half the crap he spews regarding schemes etc is so far off base it is funny.
I think he's awesome. I don't care what his record was when he coached in the high school ranks. Just because he couldn't turn a doormat around doesn't mean he hasn't forgotten more about football than you'll ever know.
My favorite was I heard him DB say my favorite player in the NFL is Joe Forte. He said it like three times until his partner corrected him saying. Uhh dude, it's Matt Forte. Classic clueless DB.
100% agree. The man knows Nebraska and he knows football/schemes. If you don't like Benning, it's probably because you never played a down of football in your life and are frustrated that you don't know what he's talking about. Just run along and let us adults who strapped on the pads have a conversation, mmk?

If you put on a headset for a few hours a day and had to talk into it for a living, I GUARANTEE you would have a few misspeaks. They happen, all the time.

I don't think there is a coach in the metro who could make NW good. Problems at that school go FAR beyond what any FB coach can fix. Benning's failure there isn't on him.
You believe what you believe as for me I wouldn't want my program taking pointers from a wannabe high school coach. He is a bitter person and constantly trips over whatever the gibberish is he is spewing. The only voices that count are those coming from Lincoln not some local yocals on the radio.

They do get former Huskers as guests who know what they are talking about. That's why I listen.
That's cool. I typically go fishing, listen to music, drink good beer, hang out with good looking girls, tailgate, laugh with friends, etc. That's what I do for amusement. But hey, to each his own. Sounds like you're living life to the fullest.
