Has anyone else seen the video posted by Mark Blankenbaker (@UofLSheriff50) on Twitter that he claims a UofL student sent him? It "appears" to show Dakich, during the UK game, flipping off the UofL student section twice, about the same time he was filming the free throw shooting section in which the cameras showed some UofL fans giving Dackich the finger. I can't figure out how to link/post the video here. I'm really curious to know if the video is legit, because I haven't heard anything else about it. I would have thought a video showing an ESPN personality flipping off a student section would have created quite a stir. Anybody know anything about this? If the supposed video isn't legit, I don't want to imply that Dakich did flip off our fans.

The video I watched from KSR doesn’t show Dakich close enough but he raises his hand twice, but I think he is just pointing up into the crowd. I would have to see something more definitive.

I was streamlining the game on ESPN3. Little did I know that I would get camera shots from everywhere but the right spot.I had to take what I got.

Anyways, the cameras didn't always leave during timeouts and on such occasion, they didn't. All I could see was the back of Dakich facing the student section and some king of interaction with the students.

They were commenting on his interaction with the students, but only said the students let him know he was #1 with a middle finger salute, then showed some fans in the student section throwing the finger at him. They did not say if Dakich was throwing the same salute or not.

There IS a video out there; it can be found on Mark Blankenbaker's Twitter Account (@UofLSheriff50) that shows Dakich on video and it "appears" he "may" have given the finger twice. If one of you tech savvy guys can link the video here, that would be appreciated. I just want to try to decide if the video is legit or perhaps doctored a bit.

It's hard to see if he was actually flipping off the fans or just pointing at them. Doesn't really matter to me. I have never cared for the guy all that much.

Thanks. And agreed; it IS difficult to tell. There are guys that thrive on wearing the black hat and trolling/irritating people. Can't fault Dakich for that; he has made a really good living at it.

If he had, there would be a lot more internet outrage or twitter activity. I don’t think even ESPN would tolerate a commentator/reporter to respond in that fashion.

That's been my thought process as well.
That is the lone reference to it possibly happening.
I have to conclude it didn't happen.

Any outrage or condemnation for the student section flipping the bird to a guest?
Not really. I think in most cases you would want your fan base to show more class, i.e. don’t throw objects on the playing field, don’t yell obscenities towards opposing coaches, players and referees, but we all know it happens. Also in this case, it hasn’t been determined if Dakich “encouraged” the fan reaction, which knowing his persona, it is likely he “welcomed” it. If like I said, the fan threw a beer or object, obviously the fan would need to be removed from the game. JMO.
