The Recruiter will make the Tourney and buy himself a couple more seasons, giving him at least 3 more as coach at State

Mullen wins 10 this season- they make Paterno retire before he gets run over aGAIN- and Mullen takes the Penn State job for 2012

We then have Gus Malzahn and Manny Diaz as our top 2 to replace Mullen- and hopefully Strick picks the right one

unless he just killed it at UL. I would hope that if Mullen left it would be because he had something like a 10 win season and we could go after a bunch of big names.

and he and his family like it in Starkville.. he'll talk a little to others to get us nervous ever so often for more money but he's got a good gig with little pressure and nowhere but up to go.. he'll be the next Bear but he'll eat bears for 10 straight Thanksgivings

there is no guarantee that Penn State would want him though- just speculation. There are only a handfull of jobs he'd leave for- and most of those wont be open. Penn St is one to keep an eye on

It's a given that if Mullen leaves, we will hire another young, well organized and energetic coach- and not some retread

Hud could easily be a top 4 candidate- especially to keep Wilson in place if he does well- just like Manny could be brought in to keep Koenning in place a couple more years for continuity. I think Malzahn could get the nod over Hud because Gus is a proven offensive coach in the SEC

what makes people keep saying that's his dream job? Just because that's where he's from? I hear people say that about so many coaches and a lot of times they don't bolt to go back home.

Mullen is from New Hampshire. But I believe his wife is from Philly. That would be the draw to PA for them.
I'm really hoping she loves Starkville...

He is a Penn Stater and will be looking to get out of Miami. Stans isn't going anywhere regardless of how much Coach wants him to and hopefully Dan and Megan stay a long time too.

Just not sure how that works in the Big Ten. It obviously didn't go well for Michigan

Then it goes against everything he's been telling recruits. He's been telling them for example, why go to Florida and be the "next" Tim Tebow when you can come to state and BE Tim Tebow.

Plus if Mullen stays here for 10+ years and wins the SEC even once he'll be considered a god here. Following the greatest coach in Penn State history makes for some pretty big shoes to fill. I don't think the pay raise is worth it.

but didn't they move her parents down here or there were talks of the possibility of them doing so?

Mullen told Prescottearly last seasonhe wanted him to come compete for the starting job as a Freshman and that we were moving Ralph to TE...recruiting is a sales pitch.

Mullen loves State and may be here15 years, but there are a handfull of jobs out there he would leave us over-and thats ok- it means he did a good job here. Penn State is one of those jobs. Does Penn St want him???? We'll have to wait and see when the time comes. Contrary to what the rest of the SEC thinks,Mullen is not looking for any excuse to leave Starkville- it will take a bigtimejob to make that happen.

Stans gets reassigned to recruit full time for our football program so that we can have a shot at next year's recruiting title.

After the bowl game, Mullen implements zone defense at the hump.

Exactly. It's crap like this that makes you shake your head. We have huge seasons starting in both of these programs and looking at this issue is silly at best, and something worse orn the other end.

I think he was also quoted as saying the only way he was leaving Oxford was "in a pine box."

If you don't think Mullen is just like every other coach, a businessman looking out for number one; then you're being naive. The most likely place he would go is Athens.

This time last year, that might not have been too far from the truth.

Barring some unforeseen 3-9 season at PSU Tom Bradley is their next coach. Hell, most PSU fans I know (and its more than one) actually want him as their coach.

Will Stans get snatched up by a top-tier program first or will we finally can Mullen for failing to win recruiting titles?

Two wins over a down UGA team would make anyone not want better facilities, more resources, and a larger fan base. Makes perfect sense.
