Look, I get that you have to try to lock down the state's best talent, and by that i mean the top 10-15 guys with a few sleepers/diamonds in the roughevery now and then. If Mullen continues to gamble his whole recruiting class on staying in-state he will continue to get burned. and it's not just looking in state, I just don't see a detailed plan since this staff had their own board in 2010. Look at the Cam Newton situation, Mullen put all his eggs in the church basket and was SOL when Newton went to the plains. A last minute run at Brunetti or signing Favre isn't much of a backup plan. In 2011 you have Mullen completely striking out on the top tier talent in-state with NOsimiliar OOS guys to replace them. I think the most positive sign in recruiting this year has been Chris Wilson's efforts-he not only looks to Mississippi but all over the south for guys. Harris from Florida, Smith from Georgia, Dixon from Georgia, etc. He's getting out across the south which is what you have to do in the SEC. Unless Mullen is content with top 40 class he needs to let his whole staff open it up and get moving across the south. That means hitting Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, etc. as hard as you can possibly do it. Money or not, Nutt and co. have gone all over the south for recruits on a consistent basis since they have been in Oxford. I just don't think the depth of talent in Mississippi is there to sign 18+ recruits there on a yearly basis. And before people say this is a reaction to what just happened, it isn't. I posted a similiar rant on tigerdroppings after the LSU game.</p>
