he hung out on sports radio for years after he departed.. he was crooked but really competed his *** off.. I think he was the coach when bill walton cheated them out of the nat champ one year...

at any rate.. he was a big time homer for mempho always dissed Peyton and said UF heisman QB weurfull was going to be a better QB than Peyton based on SEC champs and all that...

he fed to the memphis hatred based what they had for Tenn.....

he coached from 79-86. The Memphis State-UCLA game was in 73. Kirk coached them in the Final Four in 1985, they lost to Villanova in the Nat'l Semi. He was a massive crook, both in basketball and on his taxes. Served 4 months in federal prison for tax evasion. News says he was 71.
