according to olemissbydamn-"He has in no way, shape, or form ever run asub 4.3". Also studentdawg87 says no recruit runs sub 4.3 40's.
Go through life believing this if you'd like, I could care less.

But logical people who have followed football for any time will tell you that this kid isn't running sub 4.3 40s.

The guy self reports a 4.5. Recruits don't report for 4.5s when they run sub 4.3s.

I'd read about the kid on an LSU board before he committed. And I laughed at them for believing he ran a time that fast. The sub 4.3 40 story was started by USM fans after he camped with them.

Below are the top 10 40 times at the NFL combine in the last decade:
  • 4.24: Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina (2008)
  • 4.28: Jerome Mathis, WR, Hampton (2005)
  • 4.28: Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson (2010)
  • 4.29: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee
    State (2008)
  • 4.29: Stanford Routt, CB, Houston (2005)
  • 4.29: Fabian Washington, CB, Nebraska (2005)
  • 4:30: Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland (2009)
  • 4.30: Yamon Figurs, WR, Kansas State (2007)
  • 4.30: Darrent Williams, CB, Oklahoma State (2005)
  • 4.31: Tyvon Branch, CB, Connecticut (2008)
  • 4.31: Justin King, CB, Penn State (2008)
  • 4.31: Jonathan Joseph, CB, South Carolina (2006)
  • 4.31: Aaron Lockett, WR, Kansas State (2002)
  • 4.31: Santana Moss, WR, Miami (Fla.) (2001)

I watched a video interview and he said he ran a 4.3 yesterday. Maybe he is giving himself too much credit, but that doesn't sound like he's self reporting 4.5. I know he is no Dexter McCluster, but as always, I can depend on you to come over here and remind me of such things. I mean you say there is no way, but yet you give me a list of actual human beings that have accomplished such a miraculous feat. So Chief Brown sandbags his times, and our commits just flat out lie. Laugh at me if you want, but I have read a few differnet things reporting those times on different occasions, so I can believe he had a few gooddays running. Did your trained expert football eye deduce this from watching him on a video? How can you be so sure he is not that fast? Because he committed to State or because you are so logical and have been watching football for so long?

By the way, the fact that you did all that research and live on this board consumed with every move State makesis very sad.

Obviously you are being rational, right?

You didn't notice the numerous bulldogs that agree with my thoughts on the 40 time. Ronny and I jab at each other all the time, but we even agree that you'd have to be a total tard to buy the sub 4.3 40 thing.

I say self reported because that is what his highlight videos said. You think he put 4.5 on his highlight video if he runs a sub 4.3?

And feel free to laugh at the **** about Brown sandbagging. I laughed too. It was ridiculous. It's easy for me to laugh at delusional rebs as well as dogs. If you want to know the truth (and I think lots of people will agree whether they admit it or not)...OM fudged Brown's camp 40 time down because they knew he was committing. MSU fudged his 40 time up when they knew he wasn't coming to MSU. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. I don't believe half of the **** that comes from the recruiting services or staff's after a camp...MSU or OM, because they both put their spin on it.

Let's say he does run a legitimate 4.5 instead of a 4.3. A legitimate 4.5 is very damn fast. I believe Dexter McCluster ran a 4.5 at the NFL combine and Torbush said he was the fastest college football player he'd ever seen (and Torbush has spent a lot of years in the SEC, ACC and Big 12).

Yes, and I said the very same thing in the thread earlier when the poster got his thong in a wad.

4.5 is freaking fast. And most recruits who list 4.3 & 4.4 time would be proud to actually run a legit 4.5.

4.3, 4.5 what's the big deal? What lead does someone with a 0.2s advantage in the 40 yard dash have? Two feet?

What really matters is football speed. I could take Dexter McCluster every day of the week over any similar sized random guy who puts up a better 40 time than him. Except maybe Chris Johnson - but only because his football speed is well established.

A 40 time isn't a be-all, end-all measurement of how fast a guy can play football.

And I agree, I'm not going to sit here and argue the difference between 4.3 and 4.5.Either way ishauling ***, but I do argue that it is not impossible for guys to be that fast. I don't think it makes somebody a "tard" as you put it, to think that.

And yeah, Flab, the 40 time isn't the end all be-all. That is certainly not the point I was trying to make. The whole point in me responding to this to begin with was ombd claiming such a feat was impossible.

He was never the same after that 52-carry game against Provine. For that reason alone I want Pogue fired. Forget the fact that he sucks as a coach. There's no excuse to give a guy the ball that many times in a single game, especially when you've got the RBs we do. His job is to protect kids' futures, not ruin them. He ruined Big, period.
