If Mullen's offered, I believe he is gone...But I think their is at least one other person they ask before Mullen

Any other year you would be right. Mullen's record is not incredibly impressive when looked at from an outsider's perspective. Of course, we all know the other things he has done for our program and the ridiculous competition he has faced in our division and league lately. However, the issues surrounding Penn St recently take it from being a top 10 job to a serious project job. PSU absolutely has to go outside their program and hire someone "clean." No Mike Leaches or Jim Tressels.

Rumor going around the big time boosters is that Mullen told Schad that to get a raise...

then I'm fine with him moving on assuming he's THAT absorbed with money, which again, I don't think he is. He just got his salary doubled last year and came back with a 6-6 record with no signature wins. If anyone needs more money right now its our assistant coaches to keep the quality there we need. This is NOT the right time, when we have so many other things in the program we need to pay for to get us competitive, that our HC needs to bilking us for another raise.
