It really

was ridiculous watching teams move up and down the field on us with the talent we had last year. Often, I would assume teams were going to score on us just about every drive. The talent was there, so it can only be assumed that the reasons for such lackluster performaces were due to other reasons.

Hopefully, those "other reasons" are no longer in play, so to say.

It still ticks me off when I think about time putting Broomfield on Alshon Jeffery at the end of the South Carolina game two years ago. Still don't understand why Banks wasn't covering him. Extremely bad coaching mistake.

Proof a pass rush is better for stopping the forward pass than a talented secondary. Gives me hope for this year.

At the time I thought that credit should likely go to USCe. I assumed that they had just done something clever. After watching us consistently screw up with Moncrief last year in the egg bowl, I realized you didn't have to do anything special to get us in a mismatch. I'm curious whether USCe could have done that all game, but waited until they were in the redzone because they assumed MSU would adjust immediately.

Good luck with Melvin, Aubbies.

I'm no fan of Melvin's, but he wasn't responsible for our defensive strategy and coverage packages last year. The defensive coordinator does that. Melvin is just teaching the guys how to execute the coordinator's game plan.

I mean, really, how difficult would it have been to tell Banks, where ever Jeffery goes, you go.
